I personally find it MUCH clearer to use the COLOR of the team as a reference rather than the number, simply because the number is TOO SMALL.

I play at 1920*1080 on a 24' widescreen monitor. I have no issues with screen real estate, I have plenty of issues with tiny font size, and using any smaller resolution makes me want to rip my eyes out from how blurry things look.

I apologize if you took my comments as a sort of joke or dig at anyone with problems seeing .. my point was there are, for lack of any other term that feels right, morons out there that simply have no clue at all how to be a decent team mate. When 12 of 16 people all wind up in the LAB trying to get acids chances are it is not because they can't see which team number they are on ..its a case of not bothering to even read league chat instructions or worse.. simply deciding they don't care what the leader wants they prefer to do acids over grenades.

The same applies on the BAF.. I used team numbers as an example but you can see the same basic lack of regard for ANYTHING the leaders asks. When the instruction is "Please don't attack Siege until the tank pulls him to NS's body" And moments later 5 or more players are 50 yards in front of Nightstar's body attacking Adds and Siege it has nothing to do with seeing numbers well .. its all about not listening to or not bothering to follow instructions.

my favorite is on the rare occasion that a trial fails, and when they do its usually miserably, and the same idiots that didn't listen to a word that was said suddenly can't understand why the trial failed. Want a classic example I was witness to.. a mastermind that outright refused to assist with either grenades or acids because, as he so POLITELY, explained he'd just get killed. So as my character ran back from the hospital for the third time and spotted him with his pets out and waiting to pose with Maurader I wondered why it was okay for me to die multiple times but not his character. The LEADER had already asked no one to get in the cut scene but there he was and when all the acids and grenades were found and the cut scene ended the next thing we saw was

MAURADER HAS LEFT THE FACILITY.. TRIAL FAILED. Yep his pets managed to aggro the AV out the front gate and we failed because he didn't feel like paying attention to instructions.

Again if my comments upset you in any way I apologize but as you see they had nothing to do with mocking anyone with vision problems.

I'd just like to point out that I can see the numbers just fine but if you start referring to teams by color with me I'm not going to know what to do. I'm color blind, I never know what people are talking about when they insist on referring to things by color.

I've had several moments in game where someone will ask for a small blue or a small purple. I'll have a trey full of CaBs but I prefer not to waist them in case I actually need them at some point so I tell them I'm color blind and they'll either give me a name I can read or get ignored because I'm not going to give up CaBs if I don't know that's what they're asking for. Some times I'll have Lucks and Break frees in my trey as well and to me they're all the same color. They're all the same shade of purple, not actually but that's how I see them.

Even the colors I can see like Enrage I still refer to by name trying to encourage the use of something I can actually read rather a color that I can't see.

Also if you can't see numbers, you can still count. They're in order. It's not hard to figure out what number you are if you just count them.

I also get rather annoyed at the start of trials when people say to press the green button because it's not green to me. It's yellow. So I always say to press Enter because everyone should be able to read that but not everyone can see the green button.

Keep in mind there are a couple of reasons for this, and at least one of them is that not all players are necessarily native speakers of English. I also think that a fair number of people new to trials don't know what channels to expect messages on or accidentally leave their info tab set to Combat where they don't see the instructions and never knew they were there.

OK I'm looking at HP of the different ATs in game as I'm typing this post so you can so what order I did this in.

Blaster: 102
Controller: 99 (So here I've noticed my first significant change in HP because before only Masterminds were that low.)
Defender: 99 (Another significant change in HP because no two ATs except for Khelidans use to share the same HP.)
Scrapper: 105
Tanker: 115 (This actually seems significantly lower than what it use to be.)
Peacebringer: 100
Warshade: 100 (Just like before both Khelidans share the same HP)
Brute: 108
Stalker: 102
Mastermind: 95
Dominator: 99 (Again significant change here)
Corrupter: 100
Arachnos Widow: 100
Arachnos Soldier: 100

So not really sure when these changes were made but it appears the new order of things goes. (And I'm doing this second list to make it easier for me to read.)

Tanker: 115

Brute: 108

Scrapper: 105

Blaster and Stalker: 102

Kheldians, Corrupter, and Arachnos: 100

Controller, Defender, and Dominator: 99

Mastermind: 95

When did they do this HP readjustment because it seems like they made everyone lower HP or left them exactly where they were. I wish I still had the old file on what their HP use to be. Blasters were the second lowest and only the Kheldians shared the same HP with each other. I think Brutes use to be up to where Tankers are now but they're still in the same relative distance apart from each other.

Blaster HPs were increased to their current level in Issue 5, summer of 2005. Brutes HPs are the same as they were at CoV launch. Stalker base HPs were made equal to the current blaster level in I12, not the I12 release itself but a week or so later in the spring of 2008. The only other HP change made that I know of was in I18, when the tanker HP cap was slightly increased, summer of 2010.

Your also looking at the HP at level 1.. You really want to compare the HP at level 50 (and the cap)

Without even looking in game, i can provide those numbers for you. Behold, the wonder of Paragonwiki.com:

http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Hit_Points

Looks like, outta the heroes ATs blasters are 3rd, behind scrappers, but share the same HP cap as defenders and controllers. Scrappers and the Kheldians have different HP bases, but share the same HP cap, and tankers have the highest base out of all the ATs (even villains) and also have the highest cap.

Outta the villains, Mms are still the lowest, with dominators being about 200hp better, and corruptors and the VEATs being just slightly more durable (HP wise) then dominators. Stalkers are on par with blasters for HP (both with base, and caps) and brutes have the second highest HP out of all the ATs (even heroes) and the second highest cap.

That's because level 1 is the only time you can see what the real base is because at 50 the numbers are scewed by other powers and things that could very from one character to the next depending on their build.

Also that page doesn't make any sense what so ever. The cap on Masterminds is not the lowest. They're calculating each AT the same way which seems wrong on it's own then their method of calculating is just really long and complicated.

They admitted at the top of page that some powers can have an effect on HP but there's nothing in their incredibly long complicated calculations to account for it which is why MMs still end up the lowest.

If you want to see what the MM cap SHOULD be, you gotta log onto a level 50 Mastermind, get the HP for the Mastermind, AND each individual pet. Add them together and there's the real HP. As noted earlier Masterminds have extra hp because their pets take most of the damage for them.

I've never looked to see if all the pets have the same HP or if every one is different but if they are different that would mean every MM has different max HP just depending on what their primary power set is.

There are times when I'm not for real... I'm pretty sure this is not one of those times but I haven't gotten allot of sleep in the last 3 weeks or so and you didn't really quote me on anything so maybe I've gone on my regularly scheduled sleep deprived insanity. Please stay tooned for randomness.

I could be mistaken, but assuming it works as every other attribute, you can check the base HP of any toon at any time via the combat attribute window, in the base attributes section. It should list the current max HP, the base HP and the value by which every single set bonus, accolade and such raises your max HP number. So unless I misremember this, I'm afraid you are incorrect : you CAN see the real base HP of any AT at any level.

Well it started out as Defender horror stories and progressed into... well I don't know really... It was tails of awesome Defenders last I remember that was actually a subject pertaining to Defenders so we should probably go back to that.

Thought I'd post an update. Sense I first started this topic I've noticed there has been more and more people in game using the proper name "Empathy" rather than the usual people using the "Healer" term. Could it be that one of my topics on the forums is actually making a difference in the player base or am I going insane from the lack of sleep in the last 3 weeks?

Absolutely. After seven years, things have finally changed and it is all thanks to you!
