How low is it again? I thought it was a super-low lvl trial to replace sewer runs.

Is this "in addition to" or "in replacement of" the current one? The latter would make me rather displeased. The prior intrigues me but I'll opt not to get excited sight unseen.

im fairly sure its in addition to, kind of a way to promote the new lowbie experience since they are completely redoing basically the tutorial and lvl 1-8 zones

coming with the redesigned atlas park and all that, should be in addition to everything else.

The new Sewer Trial is accessible via the LFG teleporter, the same way Incarnate Trials are currently accessed. Can't remember who exactly said it, but I heard it mentioned this past weekend.

Oh, and there was apparently a bit of talk about the new Sewer Trial in today's Ustream chat, as well:

Played it at the meet and greet. 8man team. It's just a standard sewer run except.... trainers and hospital in misson. Fight Hellions, Skulls, Vahz, Lost and.... something else at the end. Can't remember what the duce it was also a big boss fight at the end. Went in lvl 5 left lvl 11.

I'm curious, is it a unique trainer?

I'm planning on doing an Abandoned Sewer Trial tomorrow around 10PM EST or so. Would have done it tonight but I'll be trying to log into Test for the second dev event.

I don't understand this. YABE (yet another blueside event), and still redside languishes. Why don't they just kill off redside? Mercy didnt even get a revamp like Atlas. They bittwiddled a few mishs and called it a day. That just sucks.

From the last link from Chad:

Both sides have their own version of it.

The new contact thing will make it so you might not have to unlock contacts, you can just pop out of the Sewer trial at level 8 and get missions from Mr. Bocor.
Splitting the game was a mistake IMO. And they made it worse with GR. I think, eventually, someday, it'll be more seamless.

I've already forgotten about most of you

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

They did do some minor zone revamps for Mercy, but the zone's only been there for about 5 years whereas Atlas Park is close to 9 years old (one of the first zones developed for the game) at this point. They've said they're going to go back and rework a lot of zones, but they're doing the oldest zones first, so the Rogue Isles have a bit of a wait.

Voodoo already pointed out that your assumptions about the sewer trial were incorrect.

And as for "bittwiddling a few missions," they've completely revamped the 1-20 content on both sides, so why don't you actually see what they've changed before passing judgment on it?

Bit-twiddling has been whats been extensively reported as far as the mission content redside in Mercy. And lack of a facelift. I stand by that statement. If people in closed beta have else to say, they are in closed beta and that is obviously not being presented.

I totally missed the fact that sewer trial was redside as well. My apologies for having not noticed that. I give a big thumbs up for that then.

I agree, I feel strongly that splitting the game was a massive mistake, given how little active PVP or COOP participation is available. The seperation of the two(three) sides is pretty massive. However, I think GR is interesting in that we may see more exciting content tied to being a Loyalist or otherwise, that we can play _in_ blue or redside. That makes it unique, and potentially different from the fundamental red/blue split.

Dude! Did you miss the that they have totaly rewritten the missions/ark for Mercy? Once you finnish the tutorial your next string of missions it to retake Fort Darwin. Narry a snake in sight. Well maybe a few.

They left the snakes in only for badge reasons.

Isn't Stheno an incarnate? :S
I remember that there was a screenshot of a Sorceress on one of the CoH:Freedom pages. With the Sorceress there were snakes, so they are not completely vanished - they are just not in Mercy Island missions.

As was said in Gran Torino, "Your world is nothing more than all the tiny things you've left behind", let CoH be one of those things. Don't forget, forgive.

I'll miss the snakes. I hope they keep the high-end snake arc. They were one of the more unique looking groups.

Pretty sure you'll be able to Ouroboros the old missions, but I didn't specifically try during my limited play time there.

Those were Praetorians, and the sorceress you noted is the Praetorian War Witch (Sorceress Serenity, I think?).
