Anybody else feel like it will be impossible to queue for Keyes Island after the first week?

I'm one of those people that actually likes running different content, but most prefer to just farm/grind. In the case of incarnate trials, the BAF is way easier than LS and KI, and people will continue to only queue for it instead of the more difficult ones. I wish the devs would force people to play the new content, or at least offer some concrete incentive to. The only incentive to run the other incarnate trials is to get XP for the physical slots, but that can be easily obtained by farming threads. One way to fix this would be to prevent people who only run BAF from earning their physical slots, perhaps by removing the XP recipes, or by splitting threads up into a physical and psychic version. However, that still wouldn't get people to run stuff like KI, because LS will probably be found to be easier.

I think ideally, each incarnate trial within an issue would be required to unlock the next tier in that issue's incarnate abilities, or something like that. Just something that gives each its own incentive so that people will queue for all of them.

Obviously, I'm talking about future content releases; it's a little late for the I20 ones.

Because they aren't forcing us to do Incarnate content quite enough. We need them to force us even more.

My flabber is ghasted.

I wish the Devs would continue to leave a variety of options and incentives open to allow me, and any other player, to play in the manner they wish.

City of Heroes was my first MMO, & my favorite computer game.

This is a common misconception. You get one Empyrean merit a day for each unique trial you run (the timer is actually something like 20 hours, but essentially once a day for most people). Empyrean merits can be cashed in for wonderful stuff, including PvP and purple recipes.

If all you ever do is run BAFs over and over, you will only be able to get one Empyrean merit each day. If you run all three trials in a day, you'll get three Empyrean merits.

That means if you want to get a Gladiator's Armor: +Def PvP IO from Empyrean Michael in Ouroboros, it will take you 60 days if all you do is grind BAFs, or 20 days if you do each trial once a day.

No doubt Keyes will become easier once people figure out the optimal way to do it.

It sounds like you are worried that, by the end of the week, people will have run their Keyes Island Trial to experience it, but then go back to farming the Behavioral Adjustment Facility Trial for Astral Merits and Threads. (If I'm wrong, please correct me.) I don't think you have any need for concern. First off, this is the third trial, which means a third possible Empyrean Merit per day, which is reason enough for many people to run it. The other reason will be for people to get a little variety in their lives. Once the first week finishes out (meaning by next Tuesday) the majority of people will have run the trial already, and it will probably be as cookie-cutter as the others in terms of how to accomplish the goals in the quickest, easiest way possible. Sure, the BAF trial will probably remain the "easiest," but I think you'll have little problem finding people to do this one.

@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.

When you say more difficult, do you mean requires less people to start? Personally, I prefer playing the Lambda trial much more than BAF. The bonus merits are easier to coordinate and it takes fewer people to start.

And why would anyone want to be FORCED to play particular content. It's frustrating for most people already that you trials are the only good option for becoming Incarnates as opposed to single player content. Being forced to play one trial in particular would be a good way to lose subscribers.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

Yeah, they could offer double rewards for any TF/SF/trial that has at least 50% stalkers. That would make stalkers more wanted!
