I take it you don't intend on using KO Blow?

You prob'ly could do better than 4 slotting combat jump.

All that you need in CJ is nothing.
But you get a free slot, so might as well put a LotG rech in there.

While not a expert on brutes, so far both those builds I've seen are pretty crappy. You need to read the "Best Farm Build" a few threads beyond. I believe someone posted a farm brute there that was designed to farm on the cheap (or in other words, use cheaper IO sets).

But here is mine;

Punch - most folks I've seen put a taunt set there for the recharge set bonus.
Blazing Aura - lots put proc there.
Haymaker - KB... really? I mean, really?
Consume - throw a set of taunts there instead.

Rise of the Phoenis - you're in AE, do you really need that? I mean, the hospital is just a hop, skip and a jump away. As for the damage part, do you really plan on dying that often?

Energy Mastary - Of all your choices, that's the best you could find? More endurance... heck you can get that with Cardiac. Its a better choice anyways, since Muscalature Boost is a waste cause you be converting and eating reds all the time anyways.

So, you want a serious toon for srs bsns?

That changes things. But I still don't have time at the moment to work on it.

Your power choices should prob'ly happen in a different order then. For example, rage is a jewel of SS. I don't know that it's fitting to wait until lvl 35 or w/e to take it.
You most likely won't need the kismet +6% with rage running all the time.

I say your best bet would be making dual builds, one for strict farming and another for teaming. If the average cash rate for a ss/fire brute doing AE farms is still about 100 mil a hour, it won't take you long to get enough cash for your second build.

As for harsh... sorry, I tried to tone it down. But with about a dozen threads below about this very subject (not your build, but ss/fire in general), I though you were being lazy not doing your research first.

If you are only going to be using one build, i recomend making it content based. So get soul and try and get a decent chunk of s/l def (i like to be soft cap, but im really starting to think 32.5% might be enough) and 12 points of -kb.

An SS/fire a build created to survive is still going to kill things fast...really fast.

And for the love of god dont get nrg mastery.

Of course, if you are a hero and cant get PPPs you ****** up and need to go redside. :P

I have found that on teams 32.5% is more than enough as I always have some form of support from the rest of the group. Whether it is a crab with double leadership buffs, or bubbles or a emp tossing out Fort and RA it is all enough to make up for that last 12.5%.

Even solo these days I have no issues at 32.5% unless its 1v1against an AV and it never is since I have lore pets to help out with them.

Yeah, go Soul Mastery for Gloom and Dark Obliteration, Darkest Night too if you have a power pick since you really only need like 2 slots for it.

I'd build for S/L defense, like others said aim for around 32.5%. After that build for recharge and +HP. Instead of slotting Aegis, go with Titanium Coating for the HP bonuses. It's really nice having 2k + HP plus a decent amount of defense and a lot of recharge.

Also, what's your budget? Can make use of purple sets to get your recharge up if it's not too expensive for you.

I love my current slotting for my SS/Fire brute. He's a farming monster. I'm always farming with other lower levels so I have a constant supply of vengeance to keep me over fire def soft cap. I can do Crey's in 5min, most other fire farms in 3.5 minutes.

33.4% Fire Defense
91% Recharge before Hasten/FF Proc (161% with Hasten)
Tier 4 Spiritual and Tier 4 Ageless Destiny

Dacu, i was looking at your build.. its good just seems to be farming mostly like i said i want one that can handle both farming and tfing and such
