NPC Godmode recharges

If they have to have an 'I win' Button, at least make it so that they can't fire the damn thing again only two seconds after it's worn off? Thanks.

Any specific NPCs we're talking about here? I know I saw a raft of patch notes recently that they've gone back and made sure a bunch of foes are truly capped at 95% resistance, so that they are at least theoretically killable during a godmode.

Stupid long old school MoG, I dunno about recharge, we've always been able to kill her when it goes down. But she is one of the ones being capped, so its possible we will be able to kill her during MoG, even if we mess up the escape we've been using.

States on a Peregrine Bank Mish. By the time his unstoppable crashed, he was able to fire it nearly instantly after coming out of the first once. There was only two people on our team able to do ANYTHING to him thanks to Psi damage. Take a wild guess how that one ended up ending...

You beat him only 3 seconds later due to Incarnate powers?

Whining about everything since 2006.

Ammo switching for Dual Pistols was my idea:

How about 'Not everyone was level 50, and those that were are so SICK of the bloody Trials on there mains that haven't got around to doing it on others much yet.'

So, no. We got him down to Unstop health trigger with about 10 minutes left. He then proceeded to sit there the entire rest of the fight not bloody budging below 1/4 health and in fact regening to about 1/2 until the mission timed out and we all failed. Woo *yay*. WONDERFUL end to what was until that point a fun mayhem.

The notes in question:

AV Resistance Changes
  • Altered the Unstoppable of the Honoree such that it does not push any resistances past 95% when active.
  • Altered the Unstoppable / Liberty Belt powers of Ms. Liberty such that it does not push any resistances past 95% when active.
  • Altered the Unstoppable of Marauder such that it does not push any resistances past 95% when active with just base resistances and Unstoppable.
  • Altered the Unstoppable of Statesman such that it does not push any resistances past 95% when active.
  • Altered the Moment of Glory of Valkyrie such that it does not push any resistances past 95% when active.
  • Other instances of AVs which have the potential to reach past 95% resistance when using multiple powers are as intended.
  • Occurrences where simply Unstoppable/Moment of Glory + automatic resistances would reach past 95% have been adjusted.
  • Altered the Unstoppable of Bobcat such that it does not push any resistances past 95% when active with just base resistances and Unstoppable.
And Statesman is on the list.

(I don't know if this will be an interim update or part of 20.5, but it's on beta right now.)

How about Shock Treatment? How about Mynx? It's just hideously irritating that these guys can use their T9 God Mode powers perma when we were specifically nerfed to never ever ever be able to perma ours.

I'm aware of that. That says nothing about recharge times for the powers. The problem wasn't Unstop (per say). The problem was that States effectively turned perma-unkillable.

Never understood how dragging a fight out with an NPC making themselves "unstoppable" made for a fun and interesting fight.

Shock Therapy in the Tips missions fits the bill, too. It's pratically impossible to fight her as a boss with any energy-based set...

^This

Heck, I honestly wouldn't argue if they made State's Lightning Judgement attack (the large AoE one he only uses at low health) a lot more powerful and broadcast it a la Portean et al. I mean, damn, it took us a good while to get his health down to 1/4 even normally. Not like he needed godmode to be incredibly tough.

Oh god, that reminds me of the time on the old incarnation of my main Tank, back when he was Energy Melee not Elec (the results would be the same mind) fighting Gigawatt.

The only moves that damaged him were Air Superiority, Ghost Slaying axe and Brawl that was not a fun fight.

That's kind of the point of bringing up the patch notes. If they did it right and the change propagates to all versions of the NPC that show up, then it will matter less what the recharge is, because even in godmode it will be possible to do some damage to them.

Is the recharge annoying and should it be changed? Yes. However the fact that in a lot of cases those godmodes sent their resistance over the cap is a big factor as well.
