Seeking Advice for my Electric/Electric Tank build.

This is my first Tank and I am having a blast. He is only lv 48 but I should be finished leveling soon, I am not really rushing it just doing Tips and TFs.
I would love for the Tank community to take a look at my build and make suggestions to improve.
I don't have a lot of money so expensive purple sets are out.
I really just want to be able to tank the weekly TFs and the Incarnate trials.

First advice... Start doing yoru Tip missions religously.
This is one of the best ways for you to get expensive IO without having to farm Influence or AE.

As to what you have here... (without plugging into Mids)

Rules of how to make your Elec Tanker a God.

#1 rule of Elec Armor.... Soft Cap Smash/Lethal Def.
#2 rule of Elec Armor.... Get Fighting Pool.
#3 rule of Elec Armor.... Raise your En/Neg Def to at least 32.5%

At a glance you seem to be lacking everything. The First one can get expensive, so shooting for 32.5% is a good place and isn't to to bad mark. Rule 3 can also get expensive as early on your fighting other aspexs of your biuld to find ways of raiseing this number.

Not having Tough and Weave is REALLY going to hurt. Weave is the single biggest Def boost Elec Armor will see even counting IO set bonues. Tough is what makes Elec have the potential to reach the 90% Smash/Lethal Levels. As a Resistance based set, any Resistance to tack onto your numbers is a good thing, and none bigger then Tough.

Seeing as you Have Ninja Run...

I would suggest you Drop Super Speed, Mu Striker, and use your 49th power and pick up Boxing/Kick, Tough, and Weave.

Weave will also give you another Mule slot for Luck of the Gambler Global Recharge.

I used the Mu striker for awhile in my biuld (for the extra Sm/Le res bonus). But after respecing out and picking up other things Never missed him. Hes pretty squishy and even as a tank its hard to keep things from eating him. Better to just buff yourself up. Tough and Weave will add a lot to this biuld.

Adding tough also gives you another spot you can put Reactive Armor.

Grounded - is over slotted, I like having as much Neg Res as possible but that little 10% isn't worth that many slots when your static shield is under slotted. 35% is a much better number to make sure you mod up then the 10%.

Taunt - I found I like Perfect Zinger here better. Mocking does have better recharge, but Prefect has better Sm/Le, and a nice Damage proc. But other then proc it depends on whats going on with the rest of your biuld.

Ball Lightning - I dont reconginze that set in thier.... Generaly this is a automatic 5 slot, and gains Postirons blast. Great Recharge boost, accuary, Fire/Cold res, Rec, and a damage proc all in one.

Power Sink - Not enough recharge.. for my tastes. I like useing Powersink as a weapon. Dont forget you can use Taunt IOs here as well.

Without seeing the mids numbers I dont want to comment on to much else. It seems you went heavy in recharge but guessing your not perma hasten. (could be wrong).
What Alpha are you looking at as well? Alpha slot isn't all that hard to at least get the first few stages, especialy if you stick with doing WTFs and TFs in general.

The 2 Alphas that most people take on Elec Armors is Spiritual (going with perma Energize route, and bigger heals) and Cardiac (End reduction for mass amount of toggles running along with Res boost. This is how Elec can hit 90% Smash/Lethal).

Not much else I can add to breog. But maybe with not needing a hole lot of influence try increasing your recharge so you can power sink for mitigation more regularly. Use your end drain tools to suck the enemies dry of endurance. Add at least 3 slots of end modification to lightning field to aid your power sink effort. This will increase your survivability without the need for softcap defenses. Still you want to look at working on your def but for a band aid fix recharge will help. Lighting rod+powersink+thunderstrike added with lightning feild with some decent recharge will do wonders for you.

I'll just add that insps are your friends. Oranges in particular will get you to 90% S/L res without any expensive PVP IO's or Cardiac, and a single purple insp softcap build is much easier to obtain than a softcap build. Also, Spiritual+Rebirth Radial+Perma Energize is so strong for self healing, it's a good alternative to going for the S/L res hardcap, and the extra recharge will help you kill stuff faster.

Here's an Elec/Elec Tanker build I have, no purps or PVP IO's, one purple to softcap.

This is great help. Thank you so much for the responses.
I am at work right now so I don't have Mids.

So I am going to pick up tough and weave. I will use the slots from Mu Striker and add Reactive to Tough and drop a LotG in to Weave.
Ball Lighting and Electric Fences will have Posi in it once I earn the cash/Merits for it.
I can add a single recharge IO to Power Sink to speed it up, but to be honest It is always up when I go looking for it.

Should I switch the sets on Grounded and Static Shield and add another slot to Static Shield?

What would you guys suggest I slot in Lightning Rod? I am running Kinetic Crash for the 7.5 recharge but if I am getting another LotG that will make up for switching to something else with a lower recharge. I have a couple of Obliteration and could start working on that set too.

I haven't had a chance to look over your build in detail, but Kinetic Crash in LR sounds like a phenomenonally bad idea, since it will turn the knockDOWN into high-mag knockBACK. Not a good thing for a tank.

Put a complete set of Obliteration in your 6 slots Lightning rod.
You will have cap damage and lots of recharge on the power, and awesome set bonus.

Yes it is pretty lame, I have been opening with Cages to mitigate the knock-back.

I love that set, it is just getting to be really expensive.
I have a full 6 in both Jacobs ladder and Thunder Strike.
If I put it in lightning Rod that will be my 5th 5.0 recharge so that will work out.

Grounded and Static...

Personaly I would 4 slot Reactive Static, and just drop a IO res into Grounded. Then use the Steadfast Res/Def IO into Power Surge (good mule slot for it, along with Gladiator PVP IO if you ever go that route).

Steadfast set bonus is ok, but you really dont need the KB IO. I have never had a issue with KB on my Elec Tanker. I realize Grounded doesn't work for KB when your in the air. But really... how often are you in the air?? Add to this once your Def is decent the time and chance of a KB happening in midair become VERY slim. its really not work the slot, and I feel Elec to hit your Def while keeping everything else up to par can be rather slot hungry on end biulds.

Lightning Rod... Definitely Obliteration full set. Its quick, easy, and relatively cheap for what it does. Certainly dnt want to amp up the KB on Lighting rod.

Power Sinks recharge.... I currently run it at Ed Recharge cap, along with 80% global. I feel this is the base ballpark you want to reach for on powersink. Its up A lot, and I use it a lot to drain everythings End, includeing EBs. This in itself can help pretty dramaticly with yoru tanking and keeping your group safe, plus it turns you into a energizer bunny. Letting you not worry as much about End Reduction in your other powers.

Just in case you didn't know... the 7.5% recharge off luck of the gambler is not the same type of recharge as the 7.5% boost of IO sets. Thier technicaly 2 different IO bonuss, hense you can have 5 7.5% IO set bonus, and 5 7.5% Luck of the gambler Recharge boosts.

Okay I have been pounding away at Mids to come up with a Respec plan. Here is what I came up with. Trying to stay with the powers I like and the IOs I own, along with getting the Defense and Resists up to par.
