Need a little help on deciding, which set to take.
FA wouldn't of been in my list for handling end drain. If you worry about endurance perhaps make an Elec/Kin anyway, there's not enough of them about. People have been known to describe Dark as end heavy but its all in the slotting.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
None of them would be in my list for "Highly survivable on SOs alone", at least not in the context of all available Tanker primaries.

If your focus is damage you should really choose a scrapper. Tankers are slow and have very weak attacks. If you want to solo a lot without end problems as a tanker and without needing a lot of inf then you should choose Will.
Elec Armor wins hands down in terms of endurance. DA is the most endurance heavy Tanker set, though it is the only one other than Elec with immunity to Endurance Drains. Fiery Aura has an endurance management and a Drain Protection power in Consume, but it won't be up that often and it doesn't offer you full protection.
As for survivability, Fiery Aura offers the least protection(though it'll make you kill stuff faster) while Elec and DA are pretty closely matched. DA probably edges out Elec with its great self heal.

Pelvic Thunder - SS/Elec/Mu Brute
Sorajin - Elec/Nin Stalker
Neuropain - Sonic/Mental/Elec Blaster
Tankers are no "slower" than other ATs unless you're a Stone Tanker. They do less damage than the damage specialist ATs, yeah, but they can do enough to motor through content just fine, and some Tanker sets and builds can produce pretty good damage.

To be truthful, none of these sets "shine" on SOs alone.
Out of the 3... Elec is the way to go for what your looking for. End light, Damage Aura, and basicly immune to End drain. Also with sticking with just SOs, elec +20% global recharge in lightning Reflexes is very very handy.
Main: Praetor Imperium Elec/SS/Mu

This.
And, at basic gameplay settings(which is what SO's are balanced against), electric does fine.
KM would be a decent choice, as would dark melee for a survival boost.
And yet Ice gets no love.
Everyone can afford IOs, but you may not feel you're king of the world picking up the ones others throw away.
Two level 28+ acc/dam, for example, will give the same amount of enhancement as a level 50 acc and a level 50 dam. And many midlevel IOs are considered trash by the IO crowd.
But, if you need money, read the Market forum. We had a challenge a year ago where we tried to see how much money we could make in 30 minutes from starting a toon (hit that random button ). While no one got over 1m, I got 600k and others got 700k. That's enough to start crafting some low level niches, defense or recharge are good places to find them, but don't ever ask a person what their niche is. Though...I did LotG D/R for a long time when I didn't have much money. Once you get money, it's easy to keep. I've had over 5b for a while now and just a little marketing will get you by when you can make 100m overnight if you feel like marketing that day.
OK, opinion time. Fire's great for damage, but I'd only play it on a brute. I like Ice, a lot. I have an Ice/Dark, which is a very safe and redundant AT. Soloing might take a few years though. WP rocks. Inv is good, in it's way. Shield is a favorite for a reason. Electricity just isn't my bag. Dark is for experts. Blah blah blah. Stuff like that.

Thx for the quick advice. Good to see help out there. I made a elec/km tank so far he is doing good, like the way it looks. Well lets hope the ride to 50 is a good 1 .
Hi there, trying to make a tank that can do ok on SO cant afford IO. Was thinking DA,ELEC or FA. As the set i was going to use. Mainly for 2 reasons. They got dam shields and the main reason they can handle end drain. I hate when the blue bar goes empty from sappers and everything else. was just wondering if they are ok with so until i can io up. Was thinking of taking Km to go with it never played it. Going to solo alot . Why i took damage shield powers to help out. thx for any help and have a great day.
