Back after five years
Welcome back, Pacur. Everything is different yet so very much the same.
Be well, people of CoH.
Welcome back to the game! Don't let the amount of new stuff overwhelm you, just take it one day at a time. Though, my advice would be to roll a completely new toon, to experience the game from the bottom-up, rather than jumping on a lvl 50 character (if you have one or more) and attempting to reverse engineer everything.
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.

Certainly lots of different stuff to get used to (fitness is inherent now? wow!).
And can anyone tell me where I can get some good, solid info on this Incarnate thing? I looked in the wiki, and it has only info about known incarnates.
Also, if anyone can answer a question: I have 31 million Inf on just one toon from back then, as influence was uhh..not used for anything. Is that a little or a lot nowadays?
Also I apparently have 77 free tailor sessions...heh
31 million isn't really that much, especially if you play the market. You're gonna want to look into that.
ParagonWiki has plenty of info on the Incarnate System. Make sure the wiki you're going to is NOT the Wikia one; that one isn't accurate and is prone to malware infections.

Welcome back - you might notice one or two changes since you were last here

Luckily, with a bit of patience, you can make stupid amounts of Inf on the market without spending ALL your time in WW/BM.
A full invention build with sets that ignores purple pieces will cost you about 400-800 million. That's a lot, but it's much easier to make money now than it used to be. The Weekly Strike Target is a great way to get merits that you can use to turn into expensive things that you can use or sell.
Join pinnbadges and cozmic's playground for teams. the population is usually spread out and shouting in broadcast won't get you much.

Thats...quite a lot. Is there like a guide I can read for a decent IO build for a Scrapper? Because I really know nothing about IOs short of that they exist, are better than Hami-Os in some instances, and are expensive as hell. (oh, and they are crafted, of course).

Okay there's two things that make IOs slightly better than HOs in some cases.
HOs have better raw aspect improvement than dual-aspect IOs (say an Acc/Dam HO vs a L50 Acc/Dam IO, the HO wins in terms of better stat boosting).
However, there are a couple other things.
Read up on IOs.
Then read up on Set Bonuses.
Also, you'll see this term now and again too, Frankenslotting.
Here's a few helpful links to get you started on "everything".
Paragonwiki: Basically if you want to know about something in CoH, it's on Paragonwiki. Don't dink around with the old Wikia site. It's throwing malware infested ads.
Mid's Hero Designer: This program allows you to play around with various builds and loadouts on a toon without having to spend any inf in-game to look at how it performs. If you're serious about getting the most out of your build for your inf, GET THIS PROGRAM. NO ARGUMENTS!
There's also Sucker Punch's online build planner there as well, but it's a little out of date.
Titan Sentinel: A program that ties into the Titan network's City Info Terminal project (so you can see your stats outside of the game on their CIT site). That in and of itself is cool, but the MUST HAVE feature is the ability to have it dump the live build of your character in-game and give you the ability to import it into Mid's.
This lets you see what you've got, the real numbers for it, and let's you progress from there.

THANK YOU for this. Now I can export my build and get some critique and advice how to slot it. Something tells me there is going to be a great deal of shopping in my future...

I'd advise not worrying about inf right now; just by playing a level 1 up and simply selling your drops at the market should get you at least 4-5 million inf by level 20; with a little effort on the market you can easily have over 100 million by level 20. It's been a long time since I've had to send a lowbie seed cash (and with the global email that's a snap nowadays) and I always end up with enough for a moderate IO set build by around 32.
Here's one easy trick for getting a lowbie seed money on the market. Some IO recipes are literally worthless, selling for 100 inf or less on the market. However a level 50 of one of those recipes will sell to a vendor (NPC store like you're familiar with) for between 5,000 and 10,000 depending on it's rarity. Therefore your brand new character can bid on a bunch of these worthless level 50 IO recipes (there are many in this category but Sniper sets like Calibrated Accuracy are always worthless. The only sniper set that's worth anything is Sting of the Manticore) for 100 inf each and next time you play you pick up the recipes you bought and trot down to the vendor and sell them for 5k-10k each.

Hmm, thanks for the tips Awesome. I've been talking in the Scrapper forums about my build, and apparantly I have a few billion worth of Hami-Os slotted in my current Issue-6 timeframe build. So more likely than not, im going to be having a big sale on Hami-Os soon to raise some much-needed cash for an IO set, so look for a post for that soon I guess.
And of course, thank you everyone for making me feel welcome back here.
Well, hello again Pinnacle.
I'm back after a LOOOONG hiatus. Long story short, I had to leave shortly after CoV came out and have been away since.
Many of you probably don't remember me or just plain have never heard of me.
So I guess this is the place where I re-introduce myself. If you do remember me, it's probably because of my ramblings, many of which happen when I can't sleep and weird thoughts creep into my head, or maybe we teamed in game and I left a good impression.
Anyway, before this turns into a long thing, I'm just going to say it's interesting to be back after all this time, and I have a LOOOOOT of catching up to do.
Now where did I put my good boots....
