Slight correction to this..
Unless it's been changed/fixed, "ineligible" characters will still be awarded (10?) Vanguard Merits for planting a bomb on the ship. I don't see this "bug" documented on the Wiki anywhere, but I only took a quick look.

But this doesn't change the fact that if you want more than just a few and get the most out of the event, it's a good idea to have the prerequisites anyway.

I hope I can make this, but I may have to work late Monday night.

I'll be there for that. I've been looking forward to tackling a RWZMSR with Leagues. It's one raid that TK's Forcefields are REALLY useful on. Too bad the thousands and thousands of VG merits aren't really much use afterwards.

120 vmerits = 1 shard = 1 thread = approx 30 seconds on BAF...hmm

10PM eastern?

Hmm. Mind an additional team of fire/rads?

REMINDER! This is TONIGHT! Looks like we're going to have a great turn out. I'm not super fond of calling out the pylons, does anyone want to volunteer for that duty?

We're going to be doing this as a League. So make sure you have league chat in your box, so you can keep up with the nuttiness.

Meet in Point du Hoc in Rikti War Zone 2. With this many signed up, we should be able to spawn a Second Warzone if it doesn't already exist.

A Note to my usual team leaders: Since we're doing this as a league, I won't be sending out team lists this week. I'll just try my best to get everyone in the league and get the teams as balanced as I can with what we have.

  • Are you going to do a bomb run like described in your sig?
  • Are the Frads going to meet at 8pmC/9pmE on the talos hill and goof around for an hour before?

I dunno. The event organizer didn't specify a bomb run, though if they don't object, our team could probably do one.

We're still meeting at the same time. And only someone who's played fire/rads would consider incinerating a tip mission "goofing around".

What we MAY want to do is make sure everyone on the team has run through the Vanguard intro mish so they get Vanguard Merits.

One small suggestion though. I would use the league interface to ORGANIZE the teams. But I wouldn't actually run the raid in League Mode. Currently the league interface introduces MASSIVE lag to the event (speaking from experience here).

I've been on two mothership runs organized both others that where in Leagues, and didn't experience any lag. If you are concerned about the League causing your team lag, you're welcome to have your team outside of the league.

I'm not here to debate one way or the other on Leagues versus Lag. I'm just here to throw a fun event for the Horde.

Like I said. Just a suggestion. We can try a league run. If it becomes a problem, we can drop to a separate team.

I should be able to make this. On the issue of lag, the last Hami I was on had no lag from league chat, so the conclusion was that it was the use of certain Incarnate powers that causes the lag.

Yup. So ~150 (not 120) dead Rikti PLUS 250k inf = 1 thread
Generally get ~450 VGmerits on an average raid, perhaps. Underestimating
With the understanding that you can only spend 150 VG merits per 20 hours
Also that you need to convert through 4 different currencies (VG merits -> Gr'ai -> shard -> thread) with an injection of a fifth (influence)
Then you need at least 20 threads to do ANYthing.

So we have a wait of 20 days and 2.5 million inf to get one common component from the new trials. This fits my definition of "not much use" but YMMV

Personally I'd rather blow my merits on having those massive robots following me around for no good reason. ^_^

I'm much more excited by the shard drops and all the fun had at these raids. And I like to use them to earn healing badge credit as well. But mostly I just like to see Dispersion Bubble saving folks from all the psychic whatsmajiggits flying around.

Okay. Had a decent run tonight. Unfortunately one of my guys brain-farted and hadn't gotten the Vanguard badge. And we'd made time for another player to do it already...

Anyhoo, we nabbed about 550 Vanguard Merits off the raid. Not the personal best I've ever done, but not bad at all.

On these raids, it's VERY possible to clear the bowl before the next respawn. And we were.
\
When that happens, the aggro-grabbers want to head up out of the bowl to the bomb lanes to pick up some of the groups of enemies out there. Then lead them back to the bowl. As few as three durable aggro grabbers can boost a raid's VM output by 50-150 VMs this way.

I usually used my tank on these and spent the entire time pulling stuff into the middle, but I reserve Monday nights for my current "Horde" toon (which hit 50 tonight!), so I spent more time dying instead. haha.

Like you said, the more Rikti coming in, the more merits available. Back in the day, me and a few other regulars were getting into the 800s easily. I was surprised that with all the new AoE powers that we didn't get that much tonight, but a handful of people kept disconnecting and/or complaining of lag, so that probably had a bit to do with it too.

Either way, it was fun to do it again! Hit 590 Merits, and stuck around for a second round for a total of about 1050 for the night. I spent a lot of time coming back from hospital and lost out on at least 100 or so (compared to teammates). Other people hit about 1300 for the night. Nice job everybody!

Aye, much fun was had by all. Thanks again for hosting!

Thank you all to everyone that joined last night. It was a little laggy the first run, but not the second. Both runs we had about 4 teams of 6-8 people. Even if it was a little laggy, it was really fun having all the teams in League chat. It was also easier to keep track of people who dropped and rebalance the teams on the fly when we had drops.

Thank you to TK Kid and Dr. Turg for being raid leaders last night. I was getting swamped with tells and adding people back who where getting DC'd. I really, *really* appreciate your all's help!

Like others have said, it wasn't the best raid out there, but I hope you all had fun.

Next Monday night will be a return to our regular Strike Force schedule with a Barracuda run.

Also check out the forums for a post regarding the next set of events for the Monday Night runs. They are coming up in about a month, and it's time for us to start talking about who is still going to be joining us and who will not be.

Thanks again for joining everyone!

I didn't "brain-fart." How do I have 10 vmerits if I don't have the ability to get them? In any case, vmerits are worthless except for big robots.

And, man, did my normal Fire/rad role chance during this. I'm used to burning up everyone's face and stomping on the ashes. Last night I was a health bar watcher, springing to the needy and healing/rezzing them.

Probably the best orchestrated raid I've been on, as I've only done pug raids where there's always at least 20% headed back from the hospital. According to Herostats, if it had lasted another 24 minutes I would have hit level 49. [on a character which is probably one of my least favorites. In fact, I haven't trained since 46.]
