Infini

So will finally have my first 50, i just need some help with slotting stuff, and perhaps a build. I just cant seem to get to 45 defensing rating, im stuck at 40, though it may not be possuibl without sets... which i cant afford. think ill have jsut enough for the IOS

I did take first aid, not sure if thats a pro move or not, or weather i should have picked up blinding feint.

There is also the possibly of dropping super jump depending on how good ninja run is.

still villan atm, will hero soon and grab the pic power sets.

any help/ advise would be apreciated.

Long forum export takes up a lot of space on the page. When posting a build for others to review in Mids', the data chunk is all you really need to post.

I seem to need to repeat my mini-INF-making alignment merit guide a lot today...

Quote:
IO sets are more affordable than you think. No build is out of your reach, unless you just don't put forth the effort. Yes, purple sets are extremely expensive. However, there are equivalent non-purple sets that offer a lesser recharge bonus, and using those won't break the build.

You can gather INF in short periods of play time. You don't even need a "farming" character to get started. Some people don't like playing the market because it is risky and it takes a decent amount of INF to get started. I suggest doing tip missions and collecting Hero or Villain merits.

You can easily gather tips in Terra Volta by killing grey-con bosses. The trip there is fast if your SG base has the teleporter for it. That should take less than 5 minutes. On villain side, the island in the South-East part of Sharkhead has a good amount of level 20 bosses on it. Next, stealthing or running to the objectives for each mission should take less than 5 minutes per mission. Once you learn which tip missions are annoying or hard for you to do quickly, you can dismiss them while in Terra Volta so you only get the tips you want to do. Overall, it should take you about 30 minutes per day to do tip missions as long as you're not using Fly as a travel power. It may take you longer at first, but the speed will come as you learn the mission layouts and learn which ones to skip. Do the morality mission when your alignment is full. If you're on Hero side, the alignment mission that has you fight your mysterious double is significantly easier and faster than the one requiring you to rescue a bane spider.

After four days, you should have two Hero or Villain Merits. Turn those into a Luck of the Gambler: Global Recharge IO and craft it and sell it on the market. That should get you about 150 million INF. Do that three to five times and you will have more than enough INF to get your character into almost any IO set build as long as it doesn't have purples or PvP IOs. There are other IOs worth buying but the market changes all the time and I don't have time to look up what is the most valuable. The point is that almost any character is capable of earning enough INF in a short amount of time per day. You don't have to already have a "farming" character to make enough INF to get into the IO market.

As far as your build goes, you need to read about enhacement diminishing returns on Paragon Wiki. Basically, slotting more than 3 generic IOs of the same type is a waste of slots.

Your toggles have no endurance reduction and you will be suffering due to that.

I will post my Scrapper Super Reflexes template again to show an efficient way to reach the soft cap (45%) for defense. This may not be the absolute best way to do it, but it isn't expensive and it leaves plenty of slots for other bonuses you may want. The important thing to keep when adapting this to suit your build are the toggles, how they are slotted, and the defense set bonuses. The Luck of the Gambler sets don't have to be in your build right away, but they provide the most benefit for those seeking to do DPS.

While leveling with this build, don't worry too much about IO sets until 47. Stock up on purple inspirations at the hospital when you get a chance and one purple should get you to the soft cap when you really need it.

Sorry but you won't be able to hit the softcap without using sets. SR lets you reach it easier, though. 4 slotting reactive armor into tough and getting a full set of both touch of death and mako's bite will softcap melee and range. Scirocco's dervish and eradication are good sets to get your aoe defense.

Recommendation? Get those sets and then find cheaper set IOs to frankenslot at least your toggles as right now you'd probably get through an attack chain just a few times before you're sucking wind.

Edit: Scratch that 4 slotting tough.. just get a steadfast +3% def IO and put it in it's base slot.

If your toon is already 50 and you play him, you can VERY QUICKLY afford 90% of the sets. If you are playing lvl 50 content, you will earn a few million for every few hours that you play. Then add the drops that you get. Add in any purple drops you might get. Use your merits from TFs to buy your sets or to buy random recipes (which could be your sets OR valuable ones to sell). Getting inf should be really easy for you at this point.

It is possible to soft cap SR without IO sets, you would be pretty gimped but its possible.

Not much of a finished build or anything but here. soft capped without sets.

Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals is the best Dual Blades attack chain for single targets (at least the best you can get without absurdly high recharge) and this build has enough global recharge to use it seamlessly, plus it includes the Sweep combo for groups. It also has softcapped defense to all positions and Aid Self, plus lots of endurance recovery. If you prefer you might want Elude instead of Super Jump since you need a lot more defense on the Incarnate trials... move the second slot from Health to Elude and slot two level 50 recharges and it would at least be up a couple times per trial. Super Jump is probably more useful in normal content though, since it's faster and has a lot more vertical mobility than Ninja Run.

A few of those IOs are somewhat expensive, but most aren't too bad. I'd suggest that you use your second build to make the IO build and use the first build to actually play with, that way you can piece it together a bit at a time until you earn enough inf and merits to complete it.

Oh, and the reason I skipped Focused Accuracy is because Blinding Feint is a constant 10% to-hit boost and the Kismet IO is another 6% to-hit while Combat Jumping is on (which should be any time you aren't Super Jumping) so missing won't really be a problem. I guess if you want to fight +4s a lot you could take Focused Accuracy instead of Super Jump, but once you get your Rare alpha slotted they'll only be +3 anyway and those will be no problem.
