Combat Jumping vs Maneuvers

So here's a weird question:

I've recently decided to start levelling a Brute, and I find myself with one spot left for a random defense power - the thing is, I'm not sure whether to take Combat Jumping or Maneuvers. I can think of arguments for each, but I don't need the CJ for a prereq for Super Leap, and I'm not planning on making this a Veng build, so Maneuvers isn't really necessary either.

For what it's worth, I'm working on putting together a KM/Elec build concentrating on maxing out +recharge to achieve perma-Energize and nearly perma-Power Siphon, if that helps. I'm not home right now, so no Mid's build to put in right now, but I'll gladly upload that later if it helps answer my (admittedly stupid) question.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If I had to take one it would be combat jumping just for the ease of battle movement it gives. Plus it is awesome with super speed. Maneuvers offers more defense though if you are close to the soft cap.

It depends on how many slots you can afford to put into this power. If it is just going to be 1 or 2 slotted, go with CJ. Slap LOTG 7.5% Recharge + Defense into it and you're golden. If you can afford 4 or more, go with Maneuvers because you need the extra slots to maximize the +Def benefits as well as lowering the endurance cost.

Probably worth seeing the build. CJ has immob protection and less end cost. You can slot BotZ's if additional KB protection is needed.

Obviously Maneuvers is stronger both personally and for your team. It is also a good deal more expensive to run, and if you have concerns with endurance management (especially at lower levels) then CJ may be a better fit for you.

Endurance issues aside, are you trying to get softcapped? What is your defensive set? How close to the softcap are you if you are trying to get there?

Combat jumping goes on all my characters. End is 0.06/sec I think. It is free defense. Slap a lotg 7.5 in there and go. Combined with hurdle the boost to jump height makes Super Speed a lot more zone friendly.

Maneuvers is a little bit better defense and cost way more end, but it goes to the whole team. I do have it on many of my characters since inherent fitness, but combat jumping just a no brainer.

I like maneuvers a lot more. Not only is it more def but it also helps your team. And it stacks with ninja run, that doesn't matter to everyone though. But if you rely on it as your travel it’s quite nice.
But if maneuvers is just enough to get you to the s/l soft cap and CJ isn't maneuvers is infinitely better.
