Extended Green Lantern TV Spot Shows Off More Of The Film's Main Villain

Looking much better than the first trailers but I'm still wary of the silliness factor... that "Pledge of Allegiance" scene makes me cringe every time. Even more than the "I know, right?" scene from earlier trailers.

I believe you were scooped on this last week.

And as I've said before, I don't mind letting Reynolds bring some humor to the role, as Hal Jordan tends to have all the personality of a brick.

Well thanks for this OP... I haven't seen it

And yeah...the costume is just too 'fake' looking...shame too

I'll probably still see it but...eeh...*shrugs*

...and yet to ordinary filmgoers who know nothing of Lantern comics, it will be the whole "in blackest night yadayada" that they'll roll their eyes at...

I like the "Pledging to a lantern" scene, he feels stupid talking to it -wouldn't you?

Yes I would, and yes I agree the oath is probably going to sound silly too. Which is what I'm worried about. Too much silliness.

There was another trailer posted here a while ago but I don't think it was this same one.

Edit: and I don't mind humor either. Just that what I have seen of the humor in the trailers isn't all the humorous to me.

Never trust a trailer. Every line you hear is out of context

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

I noticed they painted out the alien cleavage of one of the Lanterns, when compared to that extended Wondercon trailer. Guess alien cleavage goes against Standards and Practices.

And I like the "pledge to the lantern" scene.

This is true. I'm going to see the movie, of course... I've just got my doubts. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I wish they'd do everything but the origin stuff in space, but I realize that's a longshot since no superhero movie these days can escape the love interest plot.

Latest news is that after hearing complaints about some of the cgi in the extended footage Warner Brothers is spending another 9 million to clean things up further. The primary one mentioned is how bad the mask looked.

Sounds good to me. Seems like they want to make sure that DC's first big movie outside of the Batman franchise lately goes as smoothly as possible. I just hope Blake Lively doesn't ruin the movie. >.>

Hopefully it's more than just the mask...

I think it looks great. There was a lot of additional footage in this trailer, and I liked all of it.

As for the flippant attitude evidenced in this and other trailers ("I pledge allegiance" and "I know, right?!?"), the feeling I get is they are going for a Han Solo-like arc...the nonchalant, braggart rogue who grows into maturity and responsibility in the face of great adversity.

I have good feeling about this. I hope I don't have to eat my words.
