Well, I think Grav is powerful :(
Well that's the first time I've heard that statement, I guess I'll chalk it up to the storm aspect. lolololol.
Oh darn you saw through my guise. Lol, guess I thought it would get lookers. Seriously though it is fun and wormhole works nice on BAF trials with the prisoners.
Just a few quick thoughts (as I don't have Mids available, so I can't check your numbers):
Lift: I'm disappointed with the Gravity version of this -- it does less damage than Crush or the Mind version, Levitate. With an APP blast, do you really need Lift? If you mostly play on teams, then you can use Lift instead of Propel. If you mostly play solo, then you don't really need it -- the attack chain of GD-Crush-Propel-Blast has no gaps. But those slots could be used in other places. You could replace it with Snow Storm -- lots of -Recharge to slow foes down until you can get to them (and wonderful in the ITF). Or you could fit in Combat Jumping if you want a low-cost power for another LotG Recharge.
You could add another LotG Recharge in Steamy Mist with one of those slots. You can earn those with Hero Merits, so it shouldn't be expensive. My view on how to slot Steamy Mist has changed a bit lately -- I used to like slotting for Resistance, but now, with all the other places that you can get Defense, I like slotting it for Defense. Those little bits of Defense add up the more and more you get. (like adding Combat Jumping, too.)
Consider moving that Decimation set to Crush, and including the Chance for Build Up. If you 5-slot and then add something else in the 6th slot it so you are still at capped damage, then you lose nothing and gain the chance that a Build Up might happen just as you are hitting a foe with your big hitter, Propel.
I have generally not been a fan of Leadership, especially on a high endurance character like a */Storm. Yes, the extra damage is nice, but I'm not sure it is worth the power pick and endurance cost. But then, I tend to be more focused on mitigation for my controllers. If you build up Defense, I suppose Maneuvers might be a choice. Or CJ.
On the APP set, I went with Ice. Mostly, since Grav/Storm does not have either a self-heal or any way to recover endurance, Hibernate can cover both. Plus you get a single target blast almost as good as Fire. And a S/L Defense based shield -- remember what I said about building Defense? Here's a big chunk of Defense. Even relying upon Hurricane's repel/ToHit Debuff, that defense can be useful. Ice has two AoE damage powers -- Frost Breath is adequate (but Fireball is better) and Ice Storm recharges too slowly but might fit your needs.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Thanks Local, that is exactly the minor tweaks I was looking. I took the fire APP for concept as well lol. Damn concept over optimization! Quick question about hurricane, I remember reading at some point about the reduced effects of hurricane on AV's. Do you know about that?
There are a lot of Grav haters out there, but I actually like it. Once you get Singularity, it can be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the info link. Perhaps I have destroyed years of work trying to get a grav fix.I can change the title to gravity sucks
Personally, I prefer a 6-slotted Kinetic Crash slotted into Lift. Guarantees that KB Resistant hostiles (I'm looking at you, Cimerorans!) are still affected, and you get some really nice set bonuses (including -KB Mag protection).

Wormhole is a pretty fun power. Just imagine what it would be from the bad guy's point of view . . . he's there on guard duty, bored out of his mind, when suddenly he feels something odd . . . and he is teleported into the middle of a maelstrom of lightning, wind, freezing rain and some damn glowie ball thing throwing him around. The last thing to go through his mind is, "What the f . . . !"
Of course, if the devs ever port Traps over to controllers . . . there will be a LOT of Grav/Traps characters rolled up just for the combo of Wormhole and Trip Mine.

I've seen a few Gravity/Force Field controllers who have been pretty fun to watch. Some of them just solo with Singularity and Personal Force Field, and others do awesome knockback moves for chaos control.
Seeing their chaos control tricks actually motivated me to make use of my Fire/Mental Blaster's third build on the BAF, making use of Repulsion Field to knock back escaping prisoners while utilizing Personal Force Field and Aid Self as a faux-Hibernate. It's given my blaster, a "mage" type, a very cool new way of playing and looks neat, to boot. Well, aside from Unstoppable.
Grabbing the Disrupters from Mace Mastery seems like a good way to go as a Gravity controller. It will give more killing power to work with Singularity and let you run like a mastermind with nice control powers.
Too many alts to list.
Even lightning storm works well on the prisoners. Just when they think they escaped my patch of ice....BAM shot right back in. the hold proc is fun too.
As an aside, just got my judgement slotted.....what fun! I know it's old hat but it's new to me!!!
AVs resist debuffs by about 85%. (Actually 85%-87% according to THIS.)

Do basically I just continue as a damage helper and spam tornado, lightning storm and my attack chain when fighting AV's? I still drop freezing rain but I guess it is not doing much

(If an enemy has 50% resistance, then 100 damage because 50 damage. A 30% resistance debuff is resisted 50% and thus becomes a 15% resistance debuff so the enemy now has 35% resistance, so 100 damage becomes 65 damage, but 65/50=1.3, so you are still dealing 30% more damage).
Granted this is still subjected to the purple patch and thus your debuff will get less effective as the AVs become higher levels than you, but FR is your most important power in AV fights. Especially because you can stack it and if you're lucky hit 90% -res. Read my guide to understand the poofing bug and why you need to be lucky, and note that controller numbers on FR are slightly lower.
The other thing to remember is that FR and SS together provide 105% -recharge, so even against an AV that's still 16% -recharge, which means it takes there powers 20% longer to recharge which means longer between uses of the hard hitting powers. Thus, I will usually run SS on AVs as well, especially since it keeps them from flying away.
Hurricane though I view as mostly worthless in AV fights (except for managing additional mobs, so it can be very handy say on the ITF), especially given it's massive endurance cost and that you will usually be safer at range.

Well Between Local Man and Draggynn, it looks like I should slip snow storm back into the picture...I will dump Assault for that one.
I absolutely love my Grav/FF. Grav is mega power!
It's the Storm Pairing I would not like. But thats just me.
Well I took the advice on this thread and tweaked my build a bit based on that advice. I have not respecced yet as I wanted to submit it again for review. I abandoned my original concept and went another direction so got rid of some baggage. (just takes imagination sometimes) So now I find myself with extra slots. I am not sure how much gravitational anchor is but what are the thoughts of it in crushing field for the extra recharge. I still won't change the APP's but other than that what can be tweaked.

I'm going to go ahead and predict endurance troubles even with the Cardiac Alpha. At the very least you need another endurance slot in Stamina. The Miracle unique in health is also a good idea (Do those tip mission and save up alignment merits, the Miracle unique is 2 merits). I would probably take those slots from Crush and Propel.
Trying to keep changes to a minimum as requested:
More recharge in powers is a good thing (although you will find more recharge means endurance management becomes more important.):
Change the DefDebuff/End in Freezing Rain to a End/Recharge (I would do the Def/Recharge, but I think you may need all the end reduction you can get).
I would also try to get more recharge in Lightning Storm. Yes, this will be at the cost of endurance, but hopefully with the some of the endurance optimizing above this will be less of an issue.
I would also try to get more slots in Steamy Mist for additional Endurance Reduction and resistance or defense (personal preference) if you have more of those "extra slots" to stick somewhere.
Any way I could convince you to take consume over fire shield or RotP? That would certainly take a step towards eliminating some of your endurance trouble.

I looked at your build and made a few small changes to make your Recovery a little better, replaced the Fire APP with Ice -- Hibernate can let you recover Health AND Endurance before you die rather than rez you after you die. This was done quickly this morning, so there may be a lot more improvements that can be made.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Hey all,
I started my first contoller a loooong time ago,a Grav/Storm. Got him to 50 with the help of the likes of Unicycle and Local Man, and others.
Things have changed since then and I would like to post a build for the experts. I have never been floating in money so if changes HAVE to be made please keep that in mind. I also didn't want superspeed for concept reasons(sorry Local) and want dimension shift for the same reasons. Went for recharge...not massive recharge, again cuz of money.
Here is the build!!
