nvasion Victory Server - May 1, 2011
I'd love to be down, but the timing doesn't work for me.
Agua Man lvl 48 Water/Electric Blaster
"To die hating NCSoft for shutting down City of Heroes, that was Freedom."
Understandable. In fact, I might suggest shifting it an hour or two if enough people are interested but it is otherwise too early.
This sounds very cool! Is this going to be a weekly recurring event or a one time thing? That's a tough time of day for me to get on reliably. I'd probably be able to make it 1 out of every 3 weekends. You might get more participation at 8 or 9pm EST. That seems to me to be the time when a large portion of the Victory population is logged on.
We generally meet once a week on Saturday/Sunday (it's fluctuated a bit over time) but it was decided to meet on different servers. For instance, Justice is April 24 and this prior Sunday was Pinnacle. So it's sort of a one time event for this server but weekly for the event.
If it makes you feel any better, I tend to be a few minutes late most of the time. What time are the ship raids usually run on Sundays? I'm thinking of making this 3 hours before the raid so the two won't conflict yet it's later than the set time.
While I'm plotting out some good stuff to run, if anyone is curious about the nuttiness we sometimes get into with bad arcs, the original meeting thread is here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=194302
I'd love to join in, but I will never, ever be able to team like this on a weekend morning, except in extremely rare circumstances that I can't even imagine right now. I sleep in on weekends or have other things planned, pretty much always.
It'd be great if you could do this again more in the evening, which does seem to be primetime for a lot of people.
Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc: Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.
Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory
I'll be shifting this to a 4:00 PM EST start time. That way it'll be later in the day yet even if some arcs run long it shouldn't conflict with a ship raid which I believe start at 8. I'll probably show up at the earlier time as well for the heck of it but that won't be the event time.
With that change in start time I definitely have a much better chance of making it.
I would not mind doing a Vic-only AE group at another time of the day if there was enough interest. Would be a nice break from the trials IMO.
Zam, thanks for coming to the Justice Ænvasion yesterday can't wait to see what you have lined up for Victory!
I just posted a recap of the Ænvasion so far in the Player Events thread if anyone wants a taste of what to expect

Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
With that time change I think I can make the event, although I might be a little bit late. I'll send you a tell when I get on. Looking forward to it!
Thank you Victory for an exciting day of AE story arcing! Today was week 3 of the Server Ænvasion event and our biggest turnout yet! Zamuel took up the mantle of Ambassador and led a dual team League of Ænthusiasts thru 3 fun arcs.

The Instant Lair Delivery Service was a great, quick 1 mission arc to get the ball rolling. If you've ever wondered how a villain group is able to set up shop in a warehouse you JUST cleaned out in under 5 seconds, check out this fun meta humor mission with detailed NPCs and creative ties to forum jokes and lore! This arc gets my BEST CONCEPT award for the week!A big thanks again to Victory for our largest turnout yet! We appreciate the support and hope you enjoyed the arcs as much as we did
Next up was a classic arc that is very lowbie-friendly. Bricked Electronics brings the CoV enemy group, the Gold Brickers, to Paragon City and fleshes them out into a real threat for heroes! This is a very richly detailed arc with lots of clues to discover and plenty of sharp dialog. It has a very "organic" feel as the missions aren't your typical 'delivery boy' plots and are filled with characters that have their own motivations. It's worth a replay or 2 just to catch all the small bits you miss on a single run! MOST DETAILED and BEST OVERALL
And finally, Zam picked a Dev Choice arc to wrap things up! The 15+ Minute Tutorial, while a bit dated, is still chock full of great tips for players new to playing AE arcs or writing them! Both humorous and informative, if you take the 15 minutes to run through you're sure to pick up something useful! I heard quite a few "Oh, I didn't realize you could do that!"s while we ran it...and those were from experienced players & authors! MOST CREATIVE
Next Sunday (5/8/11): the Ænvasion! continues!! Join us on Infinity Server at the AE Building in Rikti War Zone at a special time: 530pm Pacific/830pm Eastern (following the RWZ Mothership Raid. Remember, all levels and ATs are welcome to join so feel free to make an alt on Infinity and see us there!

Glad everyone showed up and enjoyed themselves. To be super nitpicky it was actually a Hall of Fame as opposed to a Dev Choice. Speaking of that mission, the sequel tutorial ADVANCED TUTORIAL - Knowledge is Power: Tips Tricks & Secrets #403441 is worth playing as well.

The Mission Architect SG that usually meets on Triumph is spreading out amongst the various other servers for the next few weeks. With this being my home server, I volunteered to lead the event here. Really it's just simple teaming for a few non-farm AE arcs in RWZ so it's coop. Any level is allowed and I've got a few ideas of what to run.
Giving a heads up to those who might be interested in joining us but don't regularly read the AE section of the forums.
