An item is always worth what others will pay for it.
Easiest way to get a rough idea is to put it in a Market slot and then lookup how much the last 5 sold for. You can use that as a baseline at least.

My advice is to take it off market by advertising it here for 5 Bill obo. If it really is going for 5 Billion, then Hawt Dayum for ya. If not, expect to get an offer between 2 and 3 Billion, leaning toward 2.75 being the most popularly mentioned price as of late.

I've seen a lot of 2.5-3 billion recently. Saw some for less than that, and they were snapped up quickly, and at least one immediately reposted for more. Forum flipping!
Honestly, I expected prices to fall under 2 billion as an effect of alignment merits. I was so very wrong.

Before AM's they were around 3-4 billion, I think.
After: They were holding steady at 2.5 billion for a long time. (I know because I tried to flip one from 2.65 to 3.0 and it didn't work.) They seem to be drifting back up as people try for 3.0 and apparently get it. I don't have the kind of cash at the moment for this First Person Buyer game, so this is hearsay.

Well, selling 30 A-Merits worth of other IOs can give you plenty of Influence to buy one and still spread things around the server, if you prefer using Wentworth's "grocery shopping" system. Also, you can do this in a couple of days if you like running lots of alts.
I am earning a single Glad Proc the hard way, just to say that I did it (so I can complain about how insane the idea of 30 A-Merits for one recipe is.
). Next time, if I want one, I'll go with the "share the wealth" method (which doesn't take 3 weeks and appears to have a enough people selling enough in here to make worth it).
