Mastermind Pets need AoE Immunity

Mastermind pets are just too weak in their current state for any of the endgame content.

As a +1 Necro/Dark in BAF, zombies were worthless. They'd be dead before the summon animation finished casting.

Even the knights died from one hit.

Only the lich would last, and that was because he does everything at range. Once or twice he got too close to something while chasing his target a few feet and would instantly die.

Masterminds won't get "AOE immunity" or anything close. They're too powerful through most of the game. Yes, endgame can be rough. So can dealing with demolitionists.

Melee pets have always had this issue. I would suggest a chang in tactics rather than trying to change the game. I do not play MMs mainly because of a couple AOE attcks being able to decimate all my pets so I would not be the one to say what tactics work better however.

It would help if pets didn't have this overwhelming urge to be in melee when they are meant to stay the hell at range!

Especially in regards to the ones with the healing buffs. I'm frelling sick of having my gorram medic always being the first to die cuz he's always the first one to run into melee combat.

Basically, pet A.I. has been all kinds of broken since Demons came out. Something they changed then brought back the 'run into melee' bugs for ranged pets that seemed to have been fixed before.

Now I find myself losing all three drones in one shot.
Because they were all in Melee.
And a Warwalker fell on them.

You know, I'm sure there's a solution this.
I know that Marcone Hitmen seem to have an AI program where they avoid melee as much as they can, and similarly, Sniper class critters seemed programmed to NEVER move from their spot, even after being taunted and the tank goes around the corner.

My Phantasm greatly sympathizes with this statement.

Yeah, it's not just a MM thing. Pet AI needs work.

That's why I suggested AoE immunity- at least in the trials. Someone said they already have half; apparently that's not enough.

The AI is wrecked. Ranged pets are in melee, and melee pets have the defense of a wet tissue.

Instead of completely redoing the AI and whatever else, wouldn't it be simpler to buff 'em a little, in trials?

I even had a raid leader say that MM's are worthless in the raids, because the pets are always dead.

Absolutely worthless. Too bad they didn't give MMs a secondary powerset. That'd help out, I'm sure. Why don't the devs think of these things?

Snipers have an auto power that applies a mag 100 immob on themselves. It's not an AI thing.

Because trying to lay traps near AVs is a surefire way to....get yourself killed.

Saying 'use your secondary' is like telling a Brute to rely on just their armour. It's annoying, doesn't fit the AT, and shouldn't be happening in the first place.

Can't say that I'd ever agree to giving them aoe immunity. But they could make all your pets the exact same level as you but keep the health and damage the same as the currently have at -2 -1 and 1. that way they aren't getting hit as much but they still have the same hit points and health.

When you're fighting +4s and your pets are already -2 or even -1 it makes them pretty vulnerable to anything.
