Cool! I mean, sweet! Argh, accidental puns. I really mean to say that this thirty-wonderful flavors of awesome.

June's winner is: Airhead!


Was a tough decision, even though there were just a scant few entries... But I guess to me the Donut is just the iconic Faultline piece of architecture. A big part of me feels I should go with Mel since she did bring it up first, but the fact that my Empty Knight's model sheet isn't done yet influenced me a bit, and Airhead's concept just allows for so much amusement...



As for July and onward... Well honestly I was hoping for a little better response to this contest each month. I certainly didn't need or expect a horde banging on the door trying to win each month. but with just 3 or 4 entries per month... *shrug*

I think what I am going to do is award the July prize to Mellissandria, August's to Fox_Rox and worry about September, and maybe onward, later on...

So Mel and Fox, start thinking about what you may want... The whole thing is wide open, we can just decide characters, locales, whatever between us. No need to jump right on it though, Mel's won't be sent to the artist until end of July, Fox's til end of August (heh, will at least keep you checking in a bit, hopefully!)



Anyway, Airhead - I am real pressed for time at the moment but tomorrow after work I will take a couple more screenies and get that sent off to Jazzcarmona...

Well shux. And there I was waiting for July to come around to see what the new theme would be. Sigh...oh well. Congrats Mel and Fox. Now to wait until September.

This is a great contest concept, a wonderful artist and a massive amount of generosity. I am looking forward very much to seeing the toons together. Great artists like Jazzcarmona always exceed my imagination.

And apologies to Mel, the doughnut was really tempting

I also wanted to participate every month but didn't want to be greedy.
I was waiting for an obvious zone tie in to one of my characters (like Croatoa for Chloe) to pounce on.

Might help to have a separate thread for each months contest. It's just a perceptual thing but it makes each month seem "new".
Or how about give the winners a choice of a known artist (Jazzcarmona in this case) or a MysteryArtist
(someone else who you choose but don't tell until the art is revealed)?
Things to create suspense n stuffz.

I had considered a new thread each month but thought it may annoy people as a bit crowded? *shrug* May rethink that if/when I restart this. Hmph, hadn't considered that some people may be waiting for a specific theme or zone before jumping in. Ah well, I'll think on it some and try to come up with something that may excite more people... A couple mentioned they didn't like having to come up with a scene - it was too rp'ish for them - so maybe I'll consider changing that or alternating month with a random contest or some such...

As for different artists... One of the reasons I pulled back on contests for a bit was it seemed like every time I did one the artist flaked out I figured I finally had an artists who was consistantly good and dependable that I'd stick with them


Anyway, contests will resume in some form or another.... Be patient.

I've been lurking ans even posting occasionally, but so far, none of the scenes and themes have really called out to me, or resonated with my (multifarious) toons. I've been looking forward to each month, hoping for something that fits! Come on, Caemgen, don't quit now!

I mean, I could just post a bunch of random characters and scene ideas, but that wouldn't be creatively interpreting your Theme.

Not quitting. Think of it as a summer break. Come September I should have some form of ongoing contest going again, just may have a slightly different format (or not.)

Yeah, I certainly don't object to creating a scene! Just haven't had much inspiration to share - it's highly erratic. Sometimes I see the whole picture in an instant, sometimes I bumble along without any vision at all.

C'mon, no need for peeps to be ganging up on the couple people who mentioned they didn't like having to come up with n idea... Different strokes for different folks. And none of them were trying to get me to change, just pointing out why they hadn't participated.

And yeah, I see no need to let others dictate how I run things, but by the same token I do like to be as inclusive as possible... So once this restrts proper what I may do is just vary it month to month. We'll see come September... :P

If September's theme was ... say ... "Squeaky toys and the kittens who love them", then that would give Cat Star another shot at free artz! Heck, it would give *me* a shot, too!
