Closing May contest sometime late Monday so if you have last minute ideas you want to enter... well, the last minute is close approaching.

Your character - Fenian
My character - Burnt Matchstick tanker

The scene: Fenian and Anne are sunning themselves on the hill by the tram as the skies start to darken and a Rikti invasion announcement rings through the air, they both look annoyed as their relaxation is being interrupted. (Fenian could be replaced by anyone you feel is more appropriate to be sunning, maybe Blue Boltage?)

May contest closed. Winner will be announced sometime tomorrow, as will June's theme.

First, to catch up with some stuff I kind of missed in this thread while really only looking for entries...

Fenian is supposed to be pale... though not pallid. I don't think coloring is Jazz's strongest suit (partly why I also try to be sure to get the lines seperately) but they're still cool as all get out and far, far, far better than I could do

Were come really great ideas but this one just kind of spoke to me...

Captain_Iron - If possible, could you take a couple more reference shots during daylight? I'm not sure but the artist may have a little bit of a hard time making out the details of the costume... Also, mind if I change the set up just a tad? I'm thinking the person she froze should be a little kid and she's standing there licking the ice cream cone she stole from him.

And I would really like to stress that this should be two characters... And unfortunately extras such as robots, zombies, ect will generally be considered characters.

Wasn't the first costume blue and black?

Whichever you wish to go with is fine, just let me know... And still, better lit would probably be more helpful to the artist so he can see the details, since I assume the details are important

Not sure if it's just my machine, but I can't seem to get any better photos. However, the images can be zoomed in on in the Picasa album which helps to bring more detail to light.

As for the colors, it was always a back/grey combo. Perhaps just the lighting I snapped the pics under threw it off some.

If they still have problems with those images, let me know and I'll try and get a friend to take some for me.

After seeing this month's theme, this image and entry immediately came to mind.



My Character: Cat Star
Your Character: Gorm Diabhal
The Scene: In Faultline, near one of the many construction sites. The area is a disaster. Much of the site seems to be in ruins; barrels blown all over, a small construction shack falling to pieces, clouds of dust everywhere, even some iron girders out of place. Facing off at a slight distance, Cat Star and Gorm. They both look worn and slightly beaten, as if the fight had been going on for a while and the destruction around them is a result of it.

And in between them, the ultimate prize. The reason for this chaotic cat-astrophe...

A fish-shaped squeaky toy.

Cap-I - Ok, I forwarded the newest references to Jazz and if he needs better I'm sure he'll let me know. I hadn't noticed the zoom thingy at first... But ya, in that first series it definitely looked like the blue was costume intended. *shrug*

As for your entry this month... Sorry, but as in the rules on first page, winners are ineligible the next 3 months.

Rooftop in or around the Big Donut-(yes that rooftop)

Empty Knight versus Mystik Paladin with crossed swords as one is pinned up against the Donut. Or they both look up as the donut starts to fall on them!

I couldn't resist when I saw your Knight, especially since Paladin is a broadsword/dark scrapper (he is a defender of the Court of Oberon and Titania, among other things.) and you need more action scenes, so there!

Action scenes indeed! And the doughnut really screams to be in the picture.

Checking out the doughnut, I first imagined that my character Airhead and your character Gorm Diabhal would feel compelled to free the upside-down buckets that hold the doughnut balloon to the roof. They'd soon find themselves standing on the buckets, floating high over the shattered landscape of Faultline. Airhead would make them both balloon swords, and they'd swing around on suspended buckets, trying to hit each other.

Then I realised that's probably how there came to be a doughnut balloon in the Overland Dam at the far end of Faultline. Okay I admit I'm just being ridiculous.

Hey, this is hiding on page two of the forum..can't have that..would give myself and Airhead too good an advantage...

Location: Developers Club
Characters: Little Sister, Whoever is the worst at the billards

Scene: Little Sister has just schooled one of Caems characters in a game of pool. Honestly, should have seen this coming since pool ques and swords are so alike. Said character has now snapped the que in half and is launching over the table to settle things.

Key Details: Only stripes on the table, (a lot of stripes to sell the throughly beaten idea) A large wager on an adjacent table or sitting on the edge of the table.

It's a hidden area inside of Faultline. You have to practically swim undewater and go behind some debris to find it. There is a badge involved, btw.

Once you get there, you can find a pool table, a tv set and I believe a jukebox. At least according to my memory (which can be pretty faulty at times)

Thanks alot Caemgen. The piece looks amazing!

That's an amazing piece! It tells the story so well. The colours are somehow unusual, yet perfect for bringing focus to the ice cream and depth to the scene. I really like how the intricacies of Captain Iron's costume are brought out, and make him look wrapped in iron. The kid probably deserved it
