Claws/Dark Armor - Another set of eyes would be nice
Dark Regeneration > Miniscule amount of +Regen from a proc that is way overvalued on the forums.
|
And since he's a DA, Dark Regeneration is a given.
Dark Regen AND the proc is better than either by itself.
And if he has solid enough defenses (which it sounds like he does), that extra little bit of regen will help him not have to hit Dark Regen as often and hurt his end bar (The ToE proc doesn't always work like you hope it will).
If he gains something from slotting the proc, and doesn't lose anything in the process, then why not slot it?
Edit: I'm sure Dechs was wondering when I'd pop into this one, since DA is one of my favorite sets.
I'll check out the builds later and see if I can do anything to tweak them. Sounds like you have it well in hand here, but I'm good at thinking outside the box on builds.

Since alot of you guys in this thread know alot about dark armor...i got a question for you all. What are the advantages of dark armor over fire and electric armors?? I just a rolled stj/DA and he is pretty fun but DA doesnt seem to have all the bells and whistles the other 2 sets have other then really good psi resistance. So i want to know what makes dark worthwhile.
-end drain resistance
-biggest heal (which, however, requires targets)
-stealth, with +def that doesn't suppress (making it easier to meet def goals, and can hold lotg's)
-as you mentioned, psi resists.
-mez auras in additon to the dmg aura. edit to add: CoF has a 5% to-hit debuff
-a self-rez with a mag 30 (!) stun
-protection from Fear effects
- +perception
more subjectively, thanks to power customization it's pretty and you don't see yourself coming and going (DA seems to be less common than ElA or FA).

/ELA does have psi resist also but not nearly as much as you can get from DA .
The rest looks spot on to me.
I always felt DA got short changed on it's Damage Aura. Every other damage aura has a secondary effect. Fire gets more damage and Elec helps with sapping but Dark just does the same damage as Elec with no bonus.

The reason you don't see as many Dark Armors as you do Electric Armor or Fiery Aura brutes is Dark Armor is much much worse than those two sets. :P
The anti-knockback crowd will never, ever get how good a power shockwave is, even long-time vets.

I don't like knockback. I don't like knockback because I live in Australia, and my ping is simply put, not as good as the US users. This means that even randomly, I can get uncertainty about quickly-moving mobs, and waste AOEs or attacks. I can't be sure of when it'll happen. I can't be sure IF it'll happen.
I like having control over as much stuff as I can - and knockback can provoke a technical limitation that I cannot control.
Just saying, some of us have non-insane arguments.
Raising this thread from near deth.
Came back a couple weeks ago, but for some reason I was locked out of the forums. First priority when I came back was finishing my Claw/DA broot. Took the DA/DM tank as far as I really wanted to go, I could start building incarnate stuff on him, may still, not sure. Either way, I got him positionally soft-capped. He can hold aggro like nuts, but his damage output is bleh. Soooooo, I took a couple of his more expensive goodies, like the GA+3% and a couple other high dollar items, and put em on the broot.
Here is where I am going in the short term, I wanna kill, not tank, so if all i need is a couple purps and oranges now and then, I am happy. Yeah, he eats blues, but not as bad as you think. Am probably going to yank that 3% back off him and give it back to the tank. I plan on moving up to Purples in the appropriate powers as I can afford to.
Also, not sure what I should slot for Alpha. My end isn't the best, but that will get better as I fill in my sets, only have about half atm.
Anywho, here is the build I am looking at, minus Incarnate and Acc's. Should be pretty obvious what I will be substituting til I get the purples.
