What a Cesspool!

Catchy title?

I'm looking for more information on the backstory of the cesspools in Mercy Island and the Infected. Is there anything else beyond what Doctor Creed's missions reveal? I'm working on the background of a hero turned villain due to a heroic mission going horribly wrong against the Infected. Basically, the cesspools will be the source of his change in appearance and powers.

Any linkage or information anyone can provide would be of great help. Thanks!

You want to do Dr. Creed's story arc (level 5-8) about the infected.
Create a new villain, pick Matthew Burke as your contact, when you finish his stuff Burke will pass you on to Creed. Or you can read about it in the Wiki: Dr. Creed

I read that before I posted but I think I wasn't focusing on the Doctor Geist story line and that's where I missed the origin story of the cesspools.

So to make sure I got it right: Doctor Geist is experimenting on dead Arachnoids and the chemical runoff is pumped into the cesspools of Mercy Island. This water is what creates the Infected and has the ability to give some of them super powers.

Arachnoids are made from Venom, a drug derived from Lord Recluse's blood who is empowered by the Well. So ultimately, the Infected are a science origin convoluted twist of the Well of Furies?

Of course. EVERYTHING is tied to the Well of the Furies.

Yah, I'm not looking for this to be one of those threads. I want to make sure that my line of reasoning is legit as can be w/o a Dev actually stating one way or the other. I also wasn't sure if there were any story lines in the comics or books touching on the Infected or Arachnoids to further prove that logic.

Edit - reading up more on Project Fury, it looks like that's exactly what this is and the Infected are an offshoot of the Well. Unless something else is being introduced by Doctor Geist in his experiments with dead Arachnoids?

Edit 2 - Looks like Project FURY wraps it up nicely. I should have stumbled on that first! Hah. http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Project_FURY

His secret ingredient is love. Or maybe SCIENCE!!!

Actually, I didn't even know that The Well could be considered to have a connection, usually I out-level the good Doctor before I finish his arc, if even start it.
