Status Protection vs. Resistance
Resistance (Mechanics)
Resistance to status effects follows a different formula:
SufferedDuration = AppliedDuration / (100% + TotalResistance)
So if you have 100% resistance, that means the duration would be divided by (100%+100%), in otherwords, divided by two. A ten second hold, for example, would be 10/(100%+100%) = 10/2 = 5 seconds.

BTW, you can pull up the final duration without needing to do all the math by opening your Combat Attributes window (on the power tray, click Powers -> Combat Attributes or type /Toggle CombatNumbers). It'll be under Status Effect Resistance.

Note that this X/1+% is how all reductions work in this game. So 100% recharge buff halves the recharge of a power, just like status resistance.

Defense's formula is also different as well.

Also, as of I13, the status resistance cap is 10,000%, rather than the 100% it was previously. The behavior of status resistance hasn't changed, you're simply able to have more of it. (At 10,000% mez resistance, mezzes will last 0.9% of their original length.)

I think I understand the difference between status protection and status resistance... protection keeps you from getting mezzed at all, and resistance reduces the duration of the mez. But is 100% resistance the same as protection? I'm thinking no, since I've seen posts where players with perma-AM are looking for mez protection.
So how does the math work for resistance? If I've got AM on (with 216.25% stun resistance) and I get stunned, how long does it last? And if it is 0 seconds or less, do my offensive toggles still fall?
Thanks.
