I think someone pranked my laptop.

So my wife and I started up CoH after being out of town for a while and I notice that she's not attacking some of the NPCs. I look over at her screen and realize that it's because from her point of view, I'm attacking a pipe!

So, we headed out of the mission to see what was going on. After hopping around St. Martial for about an hour, these are the best screenshots she and I accumulated.

I updated the graphics driver and restarted the computer, but this weird phenomenon won't go away. I did just install the NClauncher on the laptop, so that might be the culprit. Anyway, I found these amusing, and thought you might as well.

For those of you who don't want to visit photobucket, or who can't get the link to work, here's a basic description: Most of the NPCs (except, for the most part, civilians) and interactive objects (doors, vehicles, base transporters, etc.) were replaced with either alternate character models (ie, some freakshow NPCs were visually different on the laptop versus my main computer) or completely different characters (ie, some Crab Spiders were replaced by Ice Mistral) or an apparently-random object (such as a large pipe or other mechanical object). From what I could tell, these replacements were consistent if unrelated. All the crab spider NPCs were represented on the laptop as Ice Mistral, for example.

I'm going to try uninstalling the NcLauncher tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, has anyone else seen this? Should I be concerned?

Corrupted files, methinks. Verifying you files should fix the broken stuff, but if not, you might have to reinstall. If you've got the physical copy of GR, that shouldn't be such a chore (though still a pain).

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Those pictures were funny as hell, lol.
Fixing files should hopefully take care of that, delete Coh.checksum first, then run the launcher and tell it to Repair (right click on City of Heroes in the launcher and you'll see a pop-up menu, choose Repair).

Not gonna lie. I would actually rather like to see some new Freakshow group using Rikti weapons. That would just look awesome I think. Similar to the sonic Freakshow from the one TF (Sister Psyche I think?)

Ask and ye shall receive.

Odds are you're looking at outdated PIGG files. The game is referencing data contained in the PIGG files (proprietary archive file format for COH) in a manner that doesn't correspond with the data that is in there so it is showing the wrong objects.

A full verification from the NCSoft launcher might fix it or else you could try deleting all PIGG files and running the updater again.
