Turns out he will be playing The Roman's (Carmine Falcone) son.

This makes four folks from Inception confirmed in Nolan's new movie. Not to mention we could see Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow again and possibly Ken Watanabe in a flashback. Does it get to a point where it'll be distracting?

Also, could Bane just be a stand-in for Ubu? Ra's's heir to the League of Shadows? Or a figure that will be competing with Talia, Catwoman, and Roman Jr. for Gotham?

Don't see Talia competing with anyone for Gotham. I think she would try to complete her father's last mission and do what she can to see Gotham burnt to the ground.

Why would Ken Watanabe be in a flashback? is Bruce really going to be looking back on his defeat of Not Ra's al Ghul?

I recall in the comics Bane briefly tried to replace Batman as the favored successor to Ra's. He might well try to prove his worth to Talia and the League of Shadows by breaking the man responsible for her father's defeat/death.

Why would it be distracting? Directors always have a bunch of actors they like to work with. James Cameron and Michael Biehn (& Bill Paxton, Schwarzenegger, Sigourney Weaver), Hitchcock and Cary Grant (& Jimmy Stewart, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman), Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro (& Leonardo DiCaprio, Joe Pesci), Steven Spielberg and Richard Dreyfus (& Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford), Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell (& Ted Raimi, Dan Hicks), John Ford and John Wayne (& Jimmy Stewart, Maureen O'Hara, Henry Fonda)... I could go on all night.

Nolan has worked with all these actors a number of times:

Ken Watanabe -- Batman Begins, Inception
Michael Caine -- Batman Begins, Inception, The Dark Knight, The Prestige
Christian Bale -- Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Prestige
Cillian Murphy -- Batman Begins, Inception, The Dark Knight

I know there's directors/actors that like to work with certain actors again and again. I suppose what could make it distracting for some is the prominence of the films they collaborate on. It's less noticeable when it's not one blockbuster after another.

But this is just something to nitpick until the film blows our minds.

Roman Falcone, as opposed to this guy.
