Returning CoHer (Lots of changes) help!

Call Me Awesome

Hey fellow heroes and villains,

I'm returning to CoH/CoV (just bought a month subscription) and I just had a couple of questions, well really one main question.

I have Stamina and Health pool powers on almost all of my characters and I learnt that these powers are now inherit. Do I have to use a respec to choose my powers and slots again because I "wasted" two/three/four levels on choosing those powers. I would prefer to spend my powers/slots on different powers (since these are now inherit) and was wondering if a respec was the only way to accomplish this. Thanks

When the Fitness power pool became inherent, ie, like brawl and sprint, the devs handed out 3 respec tokens about 1 week apart. Since you weren't subbed during that time, you may have not gotten the free respec tokens. You can try to petition for a token and explain that you just resubbed.

Alright, thanks for the information. I think I will give that a try.

Sadly yes, if you'd already opened the Fitness pool before it was inherrent then you'll have to respec in order to free up the pool.

Don't forget, if you've played for more than 9 months you'll have at least 1 Vetspec avail on all your toons, even if you missed the free ones!

Also, you can exchange the new Alignment merits for the respec recipe for much cheaper than buying it.

I seriously doubt the respec trial has even been run in ages...

Edited to add: Before you send a petition, try typing /respec just to see if you've got a freeone still.

Free respecs don't stack, but you'll normally have one anyway. Try it as mentioned, or just look at the messages on screen as you log in. It'll tell you if you have a free respec.

OTOH most task forces aren't that hard and you could reasonably get a team together, or buy one on the market. There's vet respecs too, but I try to hoard those for emergencies.

Roger dodger =). Thanks for the information about the respecs...turned out I had a free one on every character! All of my problems are solved!
Thanks everyone for your replies.

As an aside; You know what's odd?

Since Stamina became inherrent and most of my toons always took it I've been doing a TON of Vetspec's. Having an extra 3 power choices sounded HUGE!

The reality, oddly enough, is that I feel most builds are even tighter now...

Can't really explain it though. You'd think it'd make building easier but for quite a bit of em it just made the choices that much harder.

Still, it's a 'problem' I like having!

Also, do you know about 2nd build? If you don't, then you have a another free respec (and a 2nd build) that you can use.

I'd try that or use the freespec, but not both. Then when you have some experience with the new build, use the other one to make it even better.

You can only have one "Freespec" available on any character. That's why the Devs handed out multiple Freespecs during that period: so players could freespec out of Fitness on their first build, then the second was given so players could freespec out of Fitness on their second build. I think the third freespec was so that the few players that already got their third (Incarnate) build could freespec that as well.

Right, yeah, but what I'm saying is that the second build "counts" as a "freespec" because you can completely re-choose your powers with it.

If you haven't used it yet, anyway.

He will need to buy all new enhancements for a second build of course; that's something that's different from a respec. Of course the second build DOES leave the original completely untouched.
