Is Ice tanker any good on Apex/Tin Mage?
I have a 50+ ice/ice tanker softcapped, almost perma hasten. I've heard from a few that ice is no good on either of these TFs? Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence to support or reject these claims?

I'd guess a soft capped Ice should have somewhat similar results... maybe a bit worse due to lower resistances backing up the defense and as hard as things hit there may be no time for dull pain, er hoarfrost.

I think Bobcat would be your main concern. After Neuron dies, she gets 'super vengeance'. I don't know how much to hit it gives her but, when she does hit, it's for about 7000 pts of damage.

AV's will be painful, but Ice Armor has one advantage over all the other tanker primaries in Tin Mage's TF, where the -recharge from Chemical Burn won't hurt you.

Yes, Ice/ is fine on Apex/Tin Mage. I have done both a few times with my Ice tank (/ss) and was the only tank. I did learn from my first runs on each though. Notably, to bring Orange Insps with you for the tougher fights.
Apex: The Warwalkers are a breeze. Toughest part is the Hydras if you jump right in and tank them (as opposed to range killing them). Eat some oranges and make sure everyone is focusing on the pylons, not the enemies. First time I did this....went down like swiss cheese. Easy once you get the hang of it. Battle Maiden mish is pretty easy...as far as tanking if you keep aggro on you and avoid the patches of death (just like everyone else).
Tin Mage II: Two fights that hurt me. Director 11 can be nasty if you are getting all of the aggro especially since it's an extended fight with the ambushes, usually. I got smacked down the first time but with some proper uses of oranges (maybe some greens), he's OK now. Then is Neuron and Bobcat. Bobcat crushed me the first time. I was disheartened. Next time with loads of oranges, no issue.
Note that I built my tank around doing TFs now. I picked Soul Mastery for the sweetness of Darkest Night, Gloom and Dark Obliteration. After having an issue with Director 11 in the extended fight and Bobcat, I swapped Dark Obliteration and SJ for the Medicine pool. And I ate oranges. Those times when there is no healers, Hoarfrost isn't ready for the heal portion and I'm still taking damage, I can now pop Aid Self in the safety of my defense. I was resistant to it and didn't feel a tank should have to use it.....but I hate dying. It's an edge to get you over the hump in the harder fights especially when team composition isn't the best.
I have soft-capped s/l/e/d, 127% recharge, and perma hoarfrost...if that helps.
My ice tank is by far my favorite tank.
Thanks for all the input everyone.
I did the Apex TF last night and was sole tank. I didn't die and I held aggro pretty well but I think I learned a bit of what to do better. next time things will be much smoother. had no real issues with damage or things getting through defense that hoarfrost and hibernate couldn't fix, and a few orange insp.
Gotta try Tin mage soon and see what happens with Bobcat.
Then is Neuron and Mynx. Mynx crushed me the first time. I was disheartened. Next time with loads of oranges, no issue.

I did Apex for the first time lucky I was not wanting to prove anything... an Invul/ that had run it before took point. I was up and down... so it worked out best. I did not know what the hydra could do and paid a price. Also at the end look out for the big blue circles of death. But it should be no harder than any other tank listening to the advise above about the hydra and death patch.
