Apex, 2nd mish: There should be a badge for...

...keeping the newbie heroes, Dr. Advance and Ms. Shock, alive through the whole encounter (at least 'til BM dies). MB and I did this somewhat accidentally on Sunday, and managed it again once we got in. Does it ADD to the team experience? No. Is it a pain? Sure. But there's something satisfying about seeing Dr. Advance strut the field with his Singularity after BM goes down...

I'll even give you a badge name and text.

Quote:
Badge Name: Nitpicky

Badge Text: You just HAD to save everyone you possibly could, didn't you? You know what that's called, hero? Being obsessed. Dr. Advance and Ms. Shock knew the risks of taunting an Incarnate 15 security levels above them, and they woulda paid the price, if it wasn't for you meddling kids.
Okay, go with it.

I've still never seen these NPCs before, ever.

They tend to evaporate as soon as someone exits the rooftop.

I saw Dr Advance for the first time on Sunday and was trying to figure out who the hell he was and what he was doing there. Didn't realise it was normal.

It wasn't really an accident. I've been experimenting with them and trying to figure out what their purpose is and what causes them to die as soon as you come out of the building. I figured it was an automatic death as part of some code, but it turns out the Champions shoot them. Being only lvl 44(?), they don't stand a chance against them. I've been playing a Tanker all week, so I've been able to rush out there and Taunt certain foes and prevent their immediate demise.

The funny part was when Dr. Advance whipped out a Singularity and ran around the map through the entire fight. I was surprised that he didn't die until after BM was down. You are right, that was satisfying! lol

I've never been able to save both of them at once though. It's true you healed Dr. Advance the second time and kept him alive though. I bet if we combine our efforts, we could do it. haha

On a side note, I've also been trying to save all the PPD that get attacked in the first mission as soon as you leave the sewer to fight in front of "the Penny". So far I've got it down to only 2 of them dying. Again, I'm sure it'd be much easier with help, but I've been experimenting silently with it for my own satisfaction. haha

If we make this a focus, I think this is easily done. I've managed to save the whole PPD crew by dropping PA or Flash into the midst and redirecting the aggro, then healing the leftover PPD. The initial blast is the hardest part cuz you have to scramble around that corner to do it, but KEEPING them alive is harder with the subsequent ambushes and Walker hits. Still, I've had a few fights this week where 3 or 4 Awakened mobs were hanging around after the mish complete...

At least with Dr. Advance and Ms. Shock, they'd basically need a dedicated healer working them out. Their combat behavior is odd though; beyond the initial Champions blast, they're kinda ignored (and ignore the other mobs), except for the swords. I'll have to watch closer, but I DO remember Dr. Advance strutting past Battle Maiden with no cross-aggro...

Thats funny!
Ive ran 12 Apex TF's this week so far, I still had no idea what the OP was talking about, Ive never seen the named heros....
Guess they are squishy and I've been too focused on BM.

I usually see them, but they always die about 5 seconds after I exit the rooftop for the first time. The main reason why I see them is that I have it set up so that all the target's names are visible. So having a couple of grey cons being destroyed by a bunch of red and purple cons is really noticeable. I just consider them as low level heroes that walked into a high level ambush because some high level hero didn't take care of them.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

Before people ask how you did it, I might as well tell other people who didn't see my post about it before...

/optionset ShowVillainName 1

That turns on all the enemy names, even though the option menu doesn't let you. Many of us love it!

*raises hand* Me.

Although there is a loss of suspense because I know where all the mobs in the dark are now.

But that goes away quickly.

Look for corpses in front of where Battle Maiden and her friends are standing. Unless you're the first one through the door - in which case you might get to see them die.
