I'd be willing to bet somewhere in the long history of DC there was probably an alternate dimension somewhere that had all the key characters be robotic/mecha oriented. Maybe this pic was from that or inspired by that.

Yes, that was real. It also happened to be one of the absolute worst Justice League stories ever written. I bought them because I'm a die hard JL fan and something of a completist, but I couldn't force myself to read them all. They sit at the very back of my collection.

Story was forgettable but it was worth it for the art. *shrug* I'm a sucker for giant robots.
