All the Vanguard entrances go to the same place.

There are some decent places in the RWZ as well for varied scenery.

You could make use of Studio 55 in Praetoria for a less used Nightclub setting instead of the D, plus there is a lot of open area in the Praetorian zones to use for outdoor activities.

If a Small, know group is going to do something, an AE mission with a particular map might be ideal and you could fill it with enemies appropriate to the setting... Arachnos, demons, PPD, etc.

Also, for a controlled group, there are plenty of arena options as well.

I know, but as I said, I tried one of them and it wouldn't let me in.

Must have been a glitch because the level restriction to enter has been lifted. Only thing left is a level restriction to get vanguard merits or talk to the contacts.

Must have been.

And I haven't been able to check again because I've been downloading updates for... pretty much all the software I have.

Studio 55 is pretty empty, looks nice enough, and has plenty of room. Also, attached to the D, it makes a handy hub for general use.

If we did Studio 55 I might bring a Praetorian character instead.

55 isn't a bad idea for the more calm parts of the event. The RWZ could be used for battles and scenery, yeah?

Active 50s: Malevolency: (50+3 SS/WP Brute) / Sky-Scar (50+1 Robots/Dark MM) / Venomvein: (50+1 Crab) / Warlocked (50+1 BS/Shield Scrapper) / Some 50s Inactive

I agree to all of the above. Could just be because I'm so ready to start this, I dunno.

Awesome!

We've still got a few people that aren't in the "RP Events" in-game channel. If you're going to join or be part of the event, please join the RP Events channel next chance you get!

I've been distracted by assorted real-world troubles. Testing out medications, dealing with a short illness, updating all my software and running a Mutants & Masterminds campaign.

But after tonight I'm free! (Well, not on fridays, but meh.)

Anyone interested in meeting somewhere to RP an initial meeting between our characters before the action starts?

Sure! What'cha got in mind?

As a note to everyone, I'm Broken Key in the channel.

I've got a character who needs his RP identity to be worked out better. He's a villain by alignment, but rather friendly (if arrogant). He doesn't have much interest one way or another in the fate of Primal Earth, so I'd like to have friends on one side or the other as a way to draw him into the plot.

EDIT: Actually I'll probably use a different character, so never mind this. But the above offer still stands.

I like the idea. Maybe we could meet up in pocket D, sorta a "Destined by fate" kinda thing, given the nature of pocket D.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

I'm up for whatever, really.

Also, I volunteered to play the Magus in this little plot. I'm not sure I thought that through too much, though. Not sure a seventeen year old petty thief qualifies as a Magus solely due to her Mu heritage. Of course, if nobody else wants the part, I'm fine with her playing the part.
Here's a bit of her bio, anyway.

Trickshock [lvl 10 Magic stalker] Ami is a Rogue Isles native, orphaned at a young age. She has spent the past ten or so years hot-wiring cars, shoplifting, pickpocketing and committing other various acts of larceny, often done with the help of her magical control over electricity.

Yeah, so . . . meh.

I definitely want to be a part of this, and I'm already in the global channel.

I'm not entirely decided which of my characters will be getting involved.

Runo, I'd have to ask which you think is more appropriate:

Dechs Kaison: Tech/mutation based rogue close to going hero. Card player, scotch drinker, robot builder, and owner of his small medical research company. Never really a "bad guy" but has always looked out for himself. By far my most developed character.

Soulburn Sands: Magic based hero who is protected by the sands of his home and wields the art of "soulfire" as his offense. He's a really passive character, doesn't say much, and only steps in if he is sure his actions are correct and necessary.

Defying the Curse: Human infused with nictus and possessed by a demon, all thanks to the Circle of Thorns. He's constantly fighting these powers for control of his own body, it's driving him insane, and he's one or two steps from falling off the "Hero" wagon. Definitely the most active character I have, but I worry he's close to "spotlight hog annoying."

As far as characters, I'd like to offer up a few more.

Nalrok: We all know Nalrok, he's the big friendly (but wrathful) demon.

Tyranny of Silence: Donovan Acevedo, the head Ambassador of Arachnos. He's mute, and speaks only via telepathy. He's extremely charismatic, very logical, and able to talk his way in and out of any situation. However, his training has left him at the peak of human condition: The emergency reflexes every human possesses (like when you can lift a car off of yourself to preserve your own life) are constantly at his call. This leaves him exhausted at the end of the day; a poor night's sleep will almost cripple him physically.

Emotionless: He is his name. Raised in a facility that trained him to be the perfect soldier, he was kept free of emotion with an advanced injection. His first missed dose led to the slaughter of the entire facility. He took all of the formula that he could and stashed it in the Isles. His current goal is to find a scientist to synthesize the formula; if that doesn't happen, he will run out and lose himself to the restrained feelings he's been injecting away for twenty-eight years. He is calm, quiet, and unquestioning. If given orders, he will follow them unless they are foolhardy. If asked a question, he will answer honestly. If fought, he will dance his sword through you without a sound. He currently has a small connection with Rularuu.

Catastrophus: The grandson of a long-dead Oranbegan magus, and the owner of a small chain of flower shops across the isles. He can manipulate a substance known as Red Onyx. Multiple villains have disappeared after attempting to rob his shops. He's tall, bald, and quick to use sharp words. He'll fight alongside those who've shown him kindness, and will smash in the faces of those who dislike him. Imagine if Vin Diesel's character in Triple-X was a flower shop owner who could summon giant hammers made of red rock.

I have a character who might thematically fit (and obsess over) this one. Sand Guardian is... well, a guardian of the Sands of Time. Right as she was settling into the job, though, somebody stole some of it. Now she has to track down all of the sand. Each grain. One at a time.

Considering how she uses her connection to the sand to manipulate time, you can see how she'd track down any hero or villain who has 'sand' anywhere in their biography. (Incidentally, she's a Magic Defender. Kin/Psi to represent the time control. Psi since warping time has to warp minds, and if I recall right it has a couple -Recharge powers. Though she's only level 4.)

I've decided on which character I'm bringing:

Sundassa (level 9 Natural MA/Nin Stalker--Praetorian) comes from an alternate dimension where dinosaurs apparently survived the K/T boundary. He's a new-style dinosauroid rather like those of Nemo Ramjet or Simon Roy. He is seeking someone he calls 'the Maiden Reforged', but has had no luck so far, and won't any time soon. His quest often brings him to Studio 55, and he's lately become curious about Primal Earth.

Though he's something of a loner (around mammals, anyway) and quite focussed on his quest, he considers himself honor-bound to protect the weak however he can. It wouldn't take much to get him involved in saving the world from total destruction, though he might not always cooperate with others who have similar aims.

I haven't had much time for City of Heroes lately, which is pretty sad. I still haven't joined the in-game channel, so I might have missed some further development. Anything?
