In my personal opinion, this is the best manner of giveaway. The facepalm thing, that is, with a page that generates a code. Instead of using a site I'd prefer not to use, having two broswer windows open, one sitting on the page to claim the code, and one on Twitter, hoping I can get the code and activate it before everyone else doing the same freakin' thing activates it and I lose my shot at that code, and all the others posted at that time as well because I took too long. This is just my two cents.

Quote:Thank you very much!Ok here is something I worked up. I have a Shield brute but have never dabbled in SS. I made it with perma: Hasten, Rage, active defense, and vengence. Also I have the incarnate powers turned on which greatly helps you in the endurance departmant. If you do not do incarnate stuff you will lose your perma items and the endurance help.

Okay, I've been looking all over the forums, asking friends, asking in channels, but so far, I've really not found anything useful for a SS/SD Brute. I don't know enough about IOing to be able to make a decent build, and I know more or less nothing about /SD. I've found a few guides, most of which were hilariously out of my price range (purples and PvP IOs) or just SO builds. Ultimately, I'm looking for something with a decent balance of survivability and damage, I guess. Nothing insane, no purples, no PvP IOs. I'm also hoping that the Energy Mastery APP can be worked in. If it matters, I'm more of a solo player. I have about 1.1, maybe 1.3 billion Inf to spend on this, so that's my budget. If I've left out any important/needed information, let me know. This is my first time making a build request on the forums. Before now, I asked a guy who was very familiar with my playing style, so he didn't really need much info aside from AT and powerset combo, but sadly, he seems to have vanished. Thanks in advance for any help.

I can join with Braal, though I'd have to balance SG RP with this RP.

Quote:Unfortunately none of that helped at all. I did notice however that sometimes when I press the control key, the keyboard lights seem to flash the correct color for a split second, then back to Loyalist yellow. It seems to be working properly for the moment, but I'm not sure if it well continue to work properly once I alt.Hey Braal,
I have an Alienware m17x (RC1) and I have no problems with AlienFX so far, actually I am digging the interaction with CoH a lot! I guess you can still access the game, play it and change options.
Just for testing purposes, why don’t you try to switch off AlienFX inside game? Go to Menu -> Options -> Graphics and Audio -> AlienFX -> Light Control and switch it to “Disable”. Exit game to desktop, log again and see what happens. If the keyboard lights are fine, then you can re-enable AlienFX ingame (exit and log back). Maybe this will do.
Alternatively, you can switch on/off AlienFX from the keyboard (in mine is Fn + F11), maybe it will fix it too...
If none of those options work, we can try to re-install the AlienFX program, but let’s try those first.
I hope that helps!
@Arda
Edit: It seems to be working relatively fine now, out of literally nowhere. The keyboard light seems to flicker faintly every now and then, so I'm not sure if it's fixed or just working for the moment.
Edit 2: And now it's back to the way described above. -
I'm using an Alienware M11x laptop. I've never really had problems with City of Heroes before on this laptop. However, since Thursday, whenever I log in and pick my server, it takes several seconds longer for the screen to change to the character selection screen, and when it does, the lights on my laptop become a jumble of colors, instead of one single change to all lighting areas. My power button stays as I have it set outside of the game. The keyboard changes to the Loyalist yellow. The Alienware logo just below the screen goes Hero white. The lights on the front of the laptop? Resistance blue. I haven't installed/updated anything recently, and have absolutely no idea how to fix this rather annoying little bug. I'm unsure if it's a CoX problem or an AlienFX problem, or both. Any help will be appreciated, but try to keep it simple. I'm not horribly tech-savvy, nor do I know many technical terms for computers.I would have posted pictures to make it easier to understand my problem, but I haven't a camera currently.

That's from a fresh install of the game, which sadly did not fix either the lag, or the game crashing when I so much as move the graphics slider to anything more than recommended. Before the most recent patch, I had neither of these problems. Though I'm willing to chalk the lag up to the storms that have been here all week screwing with the wireless connection on my laptop. Also, on the character info windows, the snapshot area is entirely black, NPC or other player alike, and a rainbow of pixels when I open my own info window. Again, never happened before the patch. According to GPU-Z, my laptop has an Intel graphics card. -
I, too, am having trouble. I logged in at around 3:00 AM due to a boring and sleepless night, and /everywhere/ was laggy unless it was a mission map. On a character info window, the portrait was black, unless it was mine, where it was a rainbow collage of pixels. I dropped UM to see if it helped, and it did not, and now, when I go to re-enable UM, City of crashes the second I move the slider over it. I know enabling an option in UM used to crash my laptop, but not UM itself, and I was able to enable and adjust that option after about a week. SO far the only difference in the game for me is the latest patch. I'd post up my info, but I'm too tired to try to figure out how to get it.
