Spirit Tree and Procs

During my i19 build revamp ( discussed here and looking for feedback ), I was pondering putting in the Regenerative Tissue: +Regeneration proc in there.

Does anyone know how this would work? Would it only fire when out? Only when out and I'm in the AoE?

As I mention in the discussion linked above, I'm short on slots and not sure what else to throw there so any suggestions would be great, here or there.

The Regen Tissue proc would fire when you place the spirit tree. The +Regen would last for 120 seconds on you and only you. IMO, I would put a recharge IO in the base slot and leave it at that. Or just drop the power all together and pick up something more useful.

Well, it would also give the Spirit Tree a 30% regen buff for as long as it exists, but since it's an invulnerable pseudopet, that's not particularly useful.

General rules for procs and lingering effects: if the proc affects the targets, it should work normally. If it affects the caster, you get one chance on casting, and the pet gets the rest - and most buffs are nearly or entirely useless when given to a pseudopet.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up dropping it and moving the proc to Health, along with a few other changes all discussed in the build thread I referenced above.

I have heard the panacea proc put in spirit tree has a chance to heal everyone in range however. Maybe one day I'll be rich enough to test it.

Imho, I would not slot it in Spirit Tree. Instead, slot it in your health. Generally, this is advised even more than slotting into "healing" powers such as for Emps and Regen scraps because of how the Unique works.

Unless someone has greater knowledge, that's would I advise.

Well, it depends if you have other goals. I have a build for my Fire/Fire tanker with the Numina's proc slotted in Healing Flames, but I needed a full set for AoE defense and was verry tight on slots, and HF is something I fire much more than once every 2 minutes. I thought being one Luck away from a full positional softcap was worth a few sacrifices.

Here is link to reference my original opinion. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=123922

The link will specifically tell you the Unique only benefits you. And it also uses Traps' Triage Beacon (similar to Spirit Tree) as an example where the User is not maximizing the Unique.

YMMV

Great guide and thanks for the link. My search-fu failed me.

So instead on health I was considering going:
  • two Numinas (Heal and +Regen/Recovery) for the bonus
  • one Miracle (+Recovery)
  • one Tissue (+Regen)
  • and one Regular Health IO
If I read the numbers correctly from the Mid's Build I've posted here (my last post) (and I may misunderstand Mid's here), I'm seeing 260% Regen. And, since I'm a Dom, not nearly as worried about Recovery, although that is listed as 184% as well.

Getting hit sucks but is reality. Not having a self-heal still makes me nervous, though. So... how much is too much here?

Why not a second miracle instead of the common health IO?

No reason. Doesn't make a big difference from what I can tell, but I do have an extra one sitting around I could put in. I suppose a bit more recovery for free is recovery for me, eh? Thanks for the feedback.

The panacea works with the spirit tree as seen here.

It's one of the few powers I would actually slot with the proc.

Does that panacea only proc on cast or periodically?

Would it work the same with the Triage Beacon of the Trap powerset?

That's cool thanks. Another long term goal for me to get one of those now, just have to finish my last of 5 purple sets first.

It will trigger once on you when you first summon the tree. Then every 10 seconds it will trigger to give the tree bonus regen and not give you any benefit.

Put it in health, it is worth slightly more than a level 50 Heal IO.

Um, doesn't the image in this very thread prove that dead wrong?

I think he's referring to the Regenerative Tissue +Regen Proc mentioned in the OP.
