new team options ideas
I think you want the boot team member because someone has gone AFK in the mission, or has DC'd leaving that mission and the game thinks they are still inside the mission.
Just kick them and send them a reinvite, you can even add a tell briefly explaining why they were kicked and reinvited. I've found the tell about why they were kicked to not be all that important. If people come back from AFK and see a reinvite waiting for them, they are happy and don't really care.
I'll take the boot option if they give it to us, but kicking and reinviting works alright as a stop gap measure.

that is why i suggest the boot option. for those instances when you can't re-invite them.
Hey, that's a good point!

but what about when someone is D/Cing on a mission map during a TF/SF, and everyone wants to move on to the next mission but can;t enter it cause someone is still on the previous map?

Well unless it's the Team Leader that's AFK, if someone is still in the mission and the Team leader gets out, usually when he calls in the contact it'll boot the last person out of the previous mission and assign the new one.

The Kahn TF is a bit loopy, most of its missions dont assign if rogues arnt in the right place at the right time, I think because of its dependancy on missions being on transport hubs. So it rarely kicks people in missions.
Req Star: (request star) make a request for team leader status, if there is no response from team leader after 10 minutes, leadership team leader status is automatically awarded to the first star requester
|
"If there is no response from the team leader, the first requester automatically gets the star"?
Um, no. The way that would work is if someone requests the star and the leader doesn't hand it over the game FORCES them to hand it over?
So if an obnoxious PuG member keeps demanding that you kick someone for no good reason, they can request the star and get it regardless of the leader's wishes?
No, I don't think so. I don't want team leaders to have to bend to every ridiculous demand a teammate makes in order to avoid having the star taken and getting kicked themselves.

The boot from mish idea isn't bad, but this is a horrible idea.

The only big alteration I'd make is that rather then giving the star to the requester, have it pass as if the team leader DCed.
correct, allong with request star, each player should only be able to do it 1 time every 30 minutes of teamed time.
but I'm in full support of the boot option, cause the game doesn't always kick them from the mission when you talk to the contact, there are multiple arcs where everyone must be off the mission map.
I really like the "Boot from mission" idea. The "Request star" idea could work too, if a team leader got a popup that asked if he wanted to "Surrender star?" he could choose to agree or reject the request, if he returned during the time period. If the leader agreed or the time period lapsed, then the requester would get the star, nice and easy and things move on without too much delay. No reason to place request limits on things, since an active leader could reject the request and if there is an obnoxious/annoying requester then an active leader can just kick him.
Alternatively, perhaps a "Deputy" or "Assistant leader" could be designated. Then if there is a leader time away period it would default to the assistant.
ok I had a few ideas for new team option buttons.
for team lead:
Boot: boot a selected team member from the mission without kicking them from team.
for the rest of team:
Req Star: (request star) make a request for team leader status, if there is no response from team leader after 10 minutes, leadership team leader status is automatically awarded to the first star requester
