Have been trying to get the test server up, I have followed the instructions to the letter from the instructions provided on the forum. But I keep getting an error message saying the following;

failed to rename C:\Program Files (x86)\CoHTest\cohupdater.exe to C:\Program Files (x86)\CoHTest\cohupdater.prv

Can anyone help?

Probably because the 32 bit version (x86) doesn't usually have (x86) in it's program file path?

Other option is to check there isn't already a cohupdater.prv there already, if there is rename or delete it, then update and the updater shouldn't get blocked with an internal file already exists error.

I say internal error, as we do not get offered the opportunity to overwrite this old version.

Running 64 bit version, had deleted the cohupdater.prv with no luck, followed what "Tex" suggested in the techie forum, no error message now just not connecting

Well still not connecting, deleted the test folder and reset up again as per instructions on the forum but still no luck. Is there anyone else having the same problem?

Well I've installed the new launcher , the game has patched itself and loads, but now it says I don't have permission to access the test server *sighs*

That's WAI Virt, only people with beta access can use it at the moment. The exceptions are made when the Devs unblock it for sneak peak events like the one that took place last Tuesday.

European version only:
Copy the City Of Heroes folder to anywhere you want (just remember the new place and rename it as cohtest), into your cohtest folder rename CohUpdater.eu.exe and CovUpdater.eu.exe to CohUpdater.exe and CovUpdater.exe (without ".eu").

Make shorcuts of two (CovUpdater.exe should do it) then right click on the icon, properties, add -test at the end of the Target line
(something like "C:\games\cohtest\CohUpdater.exe" - test).

Launch the shortcut of CohUpdater.exe (or CovUpdater.exe if it doesn't to work) so you will be asked to install the game to c:\program files\cohtest but click no then choose your copied folder cohtest wherever you put it.. after all of these the checksum and test update begin.
