They had no way to leave and no way to signal for help, so exactly what could Khan do after Ceti Alpha 6 exploded? He tried to make the best of it for himself and his people. It wasn't as if they had the materials to create a subspace radio and signal for help.

I sympathized with the Augments that tried to overthrow Khan more then I cared about what Khan was up to or thinking. In TOS and ST:WoK Khan is a resourceful and superior intellect. He was neither of those things in that comic. |
