Alpha Slotting - Can you mix 2 power slots together ?

You can only have one Alpha ability active. What some people are doing is building several different types to have build variety-- like a Spiritual for better heals/recharge and a Musculature for more damage. It's kind of like switching gears for some builds.
Tier 4 requires two tier 3's being built...
LvL 50 Dark Dark, Emp/Rad Defenders
LvL 50 Inv/Axe, Fire/Fire, Stone/Stone, Mace/Shield Tanks, EM/Inv
LvL 50 Spines/DA Scrapper
LvL 50 Ice/Storm, Ice/Rad, Earth/Rad, 2 Fire/Kin, Ill/Rad, Grav/FF, Controller Elec/Storm
LvL 50 Bots/FF, Merc/Traps, MM Thugs/Traps, Demon/Thermal

Maybe not so obvious I suppose...
Allow me to ponder for a moment...
I have a tier 3 slotted...I then craft a second tier 3 which sits unslotted in the inventory space...
I then hit the create button next to the tier 4 alpha enhancement which shows I have all the necessary components...

Remember that when you make the tier 4 it actually consumes/destroys both of the tier 3s just as the tier 2 destroyed the tier 1.

I've been reading some odd remarks about Alpha slotting which no one contested. I was under the impression with Alpha slotting you can only have one active at a time. I have been reading about some talking about having one rare and another minor one running or looking to have both running.
Now I do see some wording and slotting that is not available atm and I am getting the impression that some sort of mix and matching will be allowed down the line but currently there is no way to have 2 alpha slots running simultaneously correct ? So I cannot have Tier one Nerve running with Tier 3 Cardiac persay.
