The Cathedral of .. OMG was that painful
Srsly. I'm not a great organizer of anything, but right under Atlas? The place where there's basically always a costume contest going on? That's about the worst place to do anything at all in the game.
Winston Churchill
Yeah and amazingly the one thing we didn't have to compete with was a CC. Don't know how we managed that I swore those went on 24 hours a day in Atlas LOL
But that was mild compared to discovering the organizers had no Mission Computer or Raid Telepoter lined up before they started team building!

Right. But everything else I can simply write off as ignorance of how it works. The Atlas statue bit is crashing so hard against the windshield of common sense that I can still feel the impact over here.

Rikti raid? We met in RWZ2. ITF? We met in Cimerora. (Well, I'm assuming that was successful. I was lagging so bad at minimum graphics settings that I had no choice but to give up and log out...)
Pretty much every other team, from radio to AE to sewer to Ouroboros to anything met somewhere else. =|
As for COP... Well, at least you got the painful experience it promised, right? =P

Even tho, it would be nice to have a more condensed version.
I know some ppl whine about how it can take times to form CoP, or when i take 10min to explain stuff once we all in base. But there is a reason for it, :P

That almost compares to the old Everquest days of raiding. The CoP has layered issues that really do not make for repeatable enjoyable experieinces. And with any luck, there will not be anymore like it brough to CoH.
Oddly enough, I remember seeing that CoP being advertised and the first thing that came to mind was Xeaon is one of the few people that will take the time to run these. I feel for the people trying to set this up. That being said, I opted for an ITF instead.
I havent ran any CoP in almost 15 days, damn im lazy!

I've ofttimes heard that STF and LRSF are the "hardest" tasks in the game (mostly from the splashscreen hints ). Since I've never run either, though, how much actual *coordination* is required for either to be successful conpared to the CoP (which I *have* run--once)?

I read through the guide and agree with Xeaon it is very good and covers everything. As for team forming I don't mind a wait when it seems productive. I have joined TFs later in the evening, or early in the morning, and had no problem standing around chatting for 15 or 20 minutes while we got enough players to start. But yesterday was very confusing and frustrating because as it drug on and on it seemed like the "leaders" didn't have a clue what they were doing. At one point the leader who originally recruited me left our team and put a player with no SG a all in charge. When I mentioned this on the global channel they created for the trial.. "Just a quick question but don't all the leaders need to be from the same SG that has the teleporter? Our leader doesn't even list belonging to any SG?" The reply I got was.. "Oh yeah that's right!" That doesn't exactly fill you team with confidence. Like I mentioned in my original we switched things around several times. At one point we even tried to start and two teams entered the base while the third was stuck outside because AGAIN the leader wasn't in the same SG. Then we finally got all three teams inside a base that had a Mission Computer and the base had NO raid teleporter. I'm a pretty patient person so I hung on but during all this some players just gave up and quit which only added to the time involved as we tried to replace them.
Xeaon I also have no problem with team briefs and the successful COP I was on had a very informative one that helped tremendously. We got a briefing similar to that last night but it seemed like a LOT of players didn't pay much attention. Ah well hopefully the next one I join will be better.

Actually it's even better if the top two slots of each team are all in the same SG in case of crashes 'cause otherwise the instance bugs.
Arguably Pocket D is the best place to be when going into the bases for COP. Hosp respawns are very close to the base porter. Following from there? Probably RWZ.
You can recruit from anywhere, but those are probably the best spots to actually be when everyone goes into the Raid Base.

If ever you end up in a Diff instance (that bug still occur from time to time)...
Normaly you have 2 teams, in one inctance, then 1 team in another. the team that is alone need a new "star holder" , that new "star holder" need to be in the SG/VG that host.
What you do is,
Disband original team, make the new "Star holder" zone alone, in the instance, and verify that he is in the Instance of the 2 other teams.
Then have him, invite the other ppl from the initial team.
I used that trick only once, and we had 5 or 6 ppl from the Hosting VG, so it was not an issue that day. Not sure that trick always work.

TEam chat was, all about, sillyness such as who is gonna die first, :P
We did not had any brutes to keep aggro, the run was just silly, pulled it around 40min.
LRSF/STF can go south big time, but if you run with the same ppl more or less, at some points, you dont even need to point out stuff or coordinate.
Prolly the same for CoP's, but with 24 ppl to recruit, the odds you have 24 ppl that know the drill is Thin.

At the end of a failed CoP, all you have to show is wasted time and debt.
CoP is 30-40 minutes usually. It usually takes longer to find people to do it.
No idea what the rewards are. For me, the reward is the fun of doing something challenging in the game.

CoP can even be 10-15min once in zone.
Forming can go fast as well, say 15-20min.
I dont think Both been fast at same time for me, lol.
But its not rare, ive done CoP under 1h, forming and running.

Okay All you potential COP planners take note of the numerous mistakes made on the COP I joined last night in Atlas (of course on the Virtue Server or why would I be putting it here).
1. We assembled under the statue of Atlas in AP. Doesn't sound like anything is wrong with that except as the teams were trying to organize we were competing with Role Players, a Potential WL event and just passers by wondering what all that 50 levels were doing in one spot. The successful COP I was on started in Ind. Port far away from the masses where the team leaders could be heard and understood.
2. I get the impression someone just got the bright idea to do a COP and didn't really put a lot of thought or research into the effort. We ran into a serious problem (s) because
2a. As the teams organized it finally occurred to someone that all three teams needed access to the same base and that base needed to be COP ready. After several mistrials we finally got 3 leaders that belonged to the same SG (mainly because one leader quit his own SG and joined the other so they could get the event started)
2b. After we got inside .. low and behold the SG had the mission computer needed but a search of the entire base turned up no Raid Teleporter
Several good guides have come out since the COP restarted and we are not talking major strategy yet here folks.. If you are thinking of hosting a COP make sure you have three leader that KNOW what they are supposed to do, all from the same SG, and have the basic equipment necessary to start. We are not even talking a lot of stuff.. you need one Raid Teleporter and one Mission Computer. It took well over an hour to get organized do to all this craziness and several people quit and found something else to do because it was taking so long.. which just made it take even longer while they were replaced.
3. We finally got inside and.. No one specified which team should go where. At one point, following my team leader, all three teams were at the same Psionic Resonator instead of one at each. some one HAS to take charge and say Team One goes here, team Two goes there and MY team will take the third.. ready, set, GO!
4. We finally organized and attacked and you could watch the progress bar on two locations drop rapidly and the third never moved.. we were down below 20% and location 3 was still at 100% health. I am at a loss for advice here because we had no idea what the problem was with team 3. It seemed like we were all about the same distance apart and my group could here the command to attack from the Trial Leader.
5. Team make up was horrible. I am not sure how the others were but the one I was on had 2 tanks, 2 scrappers, 2 blasters (including mine), and one Defender a Kin. Lots of damage absolutely no defensive buffs and limited heals. We wiped several times and had to go back to the hospital, IN ATLAS, and return to start again. Now I'm not saying a COP demands a certain team but when you know your facing a lot of enemies that WILL respawn having along a good Buffer or Debuffer seems to make a lot of sense.
Okay with under 30 minutes left we SOMEHOW managed to get organized and get the portal open and get inside to face the Aspect or Rularuu and the same disorganization ensued. It seemed fine at first .. three teams attacked three Willforges and we were able to bring down the barrier. That's when things went bad once more. I am not even sure what happened but it didn't seem like anyone even tried to get back to their assigned positions and just started attacking whatever was close. People were dying left and right and we made no progress at all. Along with many others I was completely out of awakes and had to teleport back to the hospital in Atlas again to continue.
Finally with about 3-4 minutes left in the assigned hour Rularuu was still at 100 % health and I saw a message that an ITF was forming. I was in Atlas, AGAIN, and just quit the team and went off to battle Romulus. At one point I saw one of the organizers post in global that "for a first try it wasn't bad. We got inside the chamber!" NO for a first try it was horrible. Try researching things here on the forums and through Paragon Wiki before you waste more than two hours of people's time.

ITF.. 1:20 minute 5 shards, 1 Ancient Nictus Fragement, 18 pieces of IO salvage, 6 recipes, and several million in INF.
Oh and while we stood around in Atlas while this circus tried to organize a Mothership raid formed in the RWZ, a Hami raid took place in the Hive and several other TFs formed and were probably over long before our ONE HOUR LONG (MAX) Trial. Guys you wasted a LOT of peoples playing time tonight.. get yourself organized before you try something like that again.
LOL Okay maybe I was spoiled since the first one of tese I did was SO well organized and went so well. We were completely done and out in under 30 minutes and I don't know how the other two teams did but the one I was on didn't suffer one defeat. Going from that to something SO BAD was a rael shocker. The trial is not not tough if you plan. Future COP leaders take notes and learn from my PAINNNNNNNN
