Interesting Stats in New Positron Interview
Loyalist vs. resistance just doesn't matter, unlike hero vs. villain. Top five Praetorian archtypes isn't surprising, given the new power sets released. I am surprised that there's still that many pure villains, though as expected more villains went rogue then heroes went vig (percent of the resident population first).

The stalkers makes a lot of sense to me (that they would be among highest to switch sides). I think that when COV started out, it may have been a popular AT and a lot of players that primarily played villains use a stalker as their badge character. If you want to "get them all" you have to switch sides!
Just a thought!

Oh, I did find that information about the Nemesis system at the end of the article interesting, too. Kind of too bad that they thought MA was a better way for players to fit that in, but oh well. I would think having your nemesis show up and try to foil something you are doing in a regular mission would have been awesome alone, but maybe replacing one of a mission's objectives or ambushes like that would have been too hard. Might have required upgrading all current missions in game, which could be rough.
Guess I didn't think of the new powersets for why those would have been started the most in Praetoria, heh. Maybe because it seems like the Demon and Dual Pistol fad was from all the pre-order people. But that's probably just my own anecdotal experience.

Would be curious to what percent of the population is going blue/red on leaving Pretoria. I know blue side is winning that contest, but by how much?

I don't think the numbers are suprising, they're pretty much what I would expect. Brutes and scrappers are very good soloists, so those numbers can be largely reflecting new people coming in testing the new content for themselves. MMs and Doms I would assume are largely wanted blueside, and making them purple initially is a more content-friendly way of getting them blue.
Almost every scrapper and his mother has gone redside to get shadow meld it seems. That's no surprise.
I'm not actually sure as to why blasters would from a building perspective...mace mastery is worse than ice; so it doesn't seem to be for defensive reasons. Same for trollers. Doesn't seem to be that the masteries are the reasons why they switched.
I'm a little more curious as to the number of accounts that have been activated since GR, rather than just the toon-count.
I hate to be the bringer of bad news... but Willpower sucks!!! you're better off rolling a regen

Not to rag on Stalkers too much, since I've seen them played well by some people, but going strictly on the powersets and what they can do, I'd have to agree with CM that I'd take a PB over a Stalker. Not only can the PB do a lot more, but on average the PB is more likely to be of use to the team (versus the 'stealth to the end and sit there, doesn't have recall' scouting Stalker that seems to be popular).
Sure, a poorly built PB isn't good at something, but neither is a poorly built Stalker.

I'd take a Stalker over a peacebringer any day. At least stalkers are good at something.

My only 2 inf is that it only show me that people play what they want to play. So many "AT will be obsolete" threads before GR.
All this Stalker (and PB!) hate. I have a dream that one day my children will be judged not by the AT they play, but by the way they play it!

Ten Ton Hammer interviewed Positron, and while the article is fairly interesting, I thought the statistics throughout it are even more so. 200k characters have been made since GR launched, 70% of them being Praetorian... and there is about an even split between being Loyalist and Resistance. Sounds like the balance there is better than that between heroes and villains, heh.
Masterminds, Brutes, Dominators, Blasters, and Scrappers have been the top Praetorian archetypes, while Masterminds, Brutes, and Stalkers have sideswitched the most from villains, and Scrappers, Blasters, and Controllers have switched the most from heroes.
Can't say those statistics are quite what I expected for some things. MMs make some sense, as they're so different from anything else in game. Stalkers are kind of a surprise, since they're supposedly the most "sucky" AT at this point, and I doubt the PvP crowd are wanting them too much, or even affecting things that much there. Kind of nice to see, though. Love the Blaster stats, though... I've been debating some people that think Blasters need a buff lately.
What do you all think? What you were expecting? Make you think something else?
