I finally get the gall to go up and join this forum only to find that I might be climbing a sinking ship.

I have a rather extensive history with the game. First bought it when it first came out, only to find that my windows emulator couldn't process the game due to hardware issues. Spent a few years wishing I could play a hero MMO, eventually found out that CoH was going to be on mac around the same time I was waiting for champions. Turned out that Champions never had a console release, and I gave up up on it and went with my old endeavor about a year ago.


From the way I've heard other players talk about you in the game and on the forums, you were a pretty cool guy. Same thing goes with Castle. Can't remember who did what specifically, so I don't have any real strong emotions and sentiments regarding it. Just a feeling that something is amiss... anyway I'll probably not know of the benefits you guys bring, and I'll have to deal with other new guys.

Gratz on the better opportunites Ocho, you will be missed!

The ship is not sinking. People coming and going are a natural progression in any company. With other games, you never really get to talk to/chat with/know the development staff. Many of the "red names" go out of their way to talk to us and help us deal with issue. So much so, that when they leave, it's almost as if a family member is going away.

Someone else will come in and take their place. Many of us still have fond memories of CuppaJo and we mourned her leaving. She was replaced and the cycle started anew.

You were a cool dev, Ocho. Glad I got to meet you at least once or twice before you decided to move on! Got a screen, even.

Wishing you all the best in your new directions, and if you still get to play CoH every once in a while... come to blue side! Virtue! Look up my global or something!

Gonna miss the hell out of you, theOcho. I hoped to chit chat with you again at the next HeroCon (*crossing fingers for 2011*), as sharing the table with you at the '09 banquet was quite awesome.

I hope this means you no longer need to also tend bar. While a five year streak of no-weapons violence is great, it's even better when there's little chance of it happening in the first place. :3
