Sorry about that. Thought process got crossed in my head. I was already thinking about how some people sell their accounts when they quit and for some reason your post sounded like it implying something other than what was actually said.

My bad on that one.

Wow, this would be a bonanza for long time vets. Roll up a new level 1, claim vet merits, mail to yourself, delete level 1 and repeat. Assume it takes about a minute & a half for each cycle @ 11 merits per... yeah, it's just slightly exploitable.

You forgot to add "level to ten" before the email part. Have to be ten or higher to send emails.

Your forgetting how quickly people can power level using AE farms and whatever the current exploit of the month is. And many long time vets have multiple accounts and can power level their own characters.

Couple of minutes extra to actually do that, level 10 min. to mail, but yeah.

Actually, considering there is no tech to prohibit mailing/trading outside your account, those with multiple accounts wouldn't have to power level the merit-making new characters.

No I didn't. It's still a step that needs to be taken, even if some people can trivialize it.

Ah, I didn't know about the level 10 limit; I've only used the email from established characters and apparently missed that in the patch notes.

Remnant of when trial accounts could send email.

And thus RMT spam. I still have old characters with hundreds of spam emails from back in the day.

Just because it's something "you" want doesn't automatically make it something that "needs" to be done.

And it's funny watching you casually trivialize other peoples opinions by claiming that anyone who disagrees with you is doing the same thing. Pot meet Kettle.

I'm sorry, but I think you've completely misunderstood what I said. I've never made an opinion either way on this subject, let alone expressed a leaning to either side on what "needs" to be done besides being level 10 to send in game E-mails. I merely stated that one must level to 10 to be able to send in game E-mails, and that the step was left out of the process.

And my comment regarding trivializing something, was people trivializing the leveling process, not someone's opinion because they disagreed with me (see above for how someone can disagree with an unexpressed opinion). And I'm not really sure why you're sassing me over this.

The impression I got from the post I quoted was that you felt that trading merits was the step that needed to be done since that was the topic of the thread. It never occured to me you thought people were trivialising the leveling process because I know from my own experience of being an altoholic how easy and quickly I can get a character to level 10 without using the AE. (when I get in the mood I can get 3 character to 10 in an hour soloing) And while I choose not to use the AE I know for a fact that some of my friends ingame who do use it have had brand new characters rocket past mine in levels using the AE.

So I'm sorry if I got the wrong impression from the post I quoted.
