Legacy of a Rogue (Arc ID 459586)
With renewed attention from the dev team, I've gotten the motivation to fix this arc. For those who are curious, it was unplayable due to a computer terminal collection object named "Remote Access Station" because the name "Access" is copyrighted. I renamed it to "Remote Terminal Station" but didn't change anything in the contact dialogue. I personally think that the restriction should be limited to characters named just "Access" instead of any use of the word for any objective.
I also made a change based on feedback: several people said they hate 25-29 CoT due to the abundance of Spectrals (and I don't blame them). I've moved it to 30-35, which unfortunately means they will face Earth Thorn Casters, which some may feel are worse. This means I had to remove the Banished Pantheon in the first mission or have the arc jump from 25-29 to 30-35. I could have done 30-34, but I do have a level 35 minimum EB in it, and I wanted to remove the warning about "lower than design intent" content. Since the arc no longer contains Banished Pantheon, I also changed the first map so that you should encounter the two main objectives in order (something someone, I think either PW or WrongNumber, suggested).
I have some more changes I intend to make based on feedback: the third mission needs more justification prior to the decision to embark on it instead of just being justified after the fact, and I'm going to try to tone down the amount of colored text I used. I have a question for the community: when do you feel colored text should be used? I've been using it to identify important people, important objects, and to distinguish between dialogue, action narration, and warnings.
I'll update when I make these changes, but I'm off my lunch hour, so it will have to be later. Thanks to those who gave the feedback on this, and I'm sorry it took me so long to do much about it. I hope you'll understand; I didn't think your feedback was unimportant.

Nevermind. Not fixing it any further. Got 2 under 3 star votes since I made it playable again, one with the comment "Not a Farm, make it a farm".

I really wish people wouldn't wait for the Devs to have a "renewed interest" in AE to get active here, but in some ways I understand.
Anyhoo... I sent ya feedback and I don't wanna make any comments public good or bad. If you wanna know my attitude on rating, just visit this link.
As I mentioned in Comment, here's something I think might interest you:

Would appreciate it if you try out one of mine sometime to see what I meant in comments.
Don't let the negatives get to ya! PEACE!
Hey guys, thanks for responding.
It's not really the downvotes that got me down on this. It was the comment. AE is not, according to the devs, supposed to be for farms, but... well, the comment speaks for itself. I was in this situation where I had to ask, in context with comments in the thread about downvoting farms where one guy said he went through and 1 starred all new arcs posted in this forum, is this griefing/harrassment? Should I report the person? Or is that just petty retaliation? Most people don't even give comments when they downvote, and this guy told me exactly why he downvoted it, so should I want him punished for that? Note that I didn't include his name when I mentioned the comment. I'm not sure what to do about it, so it just made me want to give up.
You both made the effort to give meaningful feedback, and so did other people, so it really wouldn't be fair to you or the others not to at least act on that feedback. Thank you for that. And thank you for your efforts to keep the community going with your reviews, contests, and videos, Bubbawheat. SupaFreak, that color guide is really helpful, thanks so much for posting it, it's a great guide (Edit: I feel dumb for not scrolling down, it's far more than a color guide, it's excellent). I'll be making adjustments based on it and your other feedback, since you took the time give it instead of just clicking a star value.
I'm sorry that I'm more easily frustrated than you both are when it comes to the MA. I had really high hopes for this system, and I feel like it's hampered by the design of the rating system, search tool, and other aspects. I hope that the F2P move will bring in enough money that they can afford to spread the resources around to make all their systems better.
And yes, I'll run one of yours, SupaFreak, thanks again.

You wrote a story arc that uses the system as intended. If someone doesn't like it and rates low based on that, sure, ok. But if someone downvotes you simply because you're using the AE for its intended purpose and not as a farm tool, they're being an ***hat.

I'd report it. I'm not optimistic enough to think anything will be done about it, but I'd report it anyway, just in case something is. It is most certainly griefing, since people who go around 1-starring know EXACTLY what effects it has on an arc.

I think it's perfectly ethical to 1-star your average "XP/ticket farmz" mission with poor spelling, no capitalization and no text beyond "kill stuff." They're not what AE is intended for and anything that gets them off the first few pages is ok by me.

Maybe if you just ignored AE farms and let people who build them alone, allowing the people who actually control the game to deal with it as they see fit, you won't have these kinds of issues?
You have to ask yourself why you decided to make this arc. Did you do it so everyone would love you or did you make it because you wanted to tell an interesting story?

I want people who like story focused arcs to be able to find and play story focused arcs. The current system is (unintentionally) designed to support farmers, and that comment I posted really drove the point home. The only reason I care at all what anyone's rating is, is that it very obviously affects how many people see the arc in question. After all, what is the point of telling an interesting story if nobody experiences it? I just want the system to be fixed so that it actually supports the content it's supposed to support. This, combined with the name filter and other factors, makes my motivation very low for working with or playing the MA.
And Eva, thanks for the advice. I'll take it into consideration. I'm leaning towards PMing Dr. Aeon about it instead, as I don't really think GM action taken against the person is useful. I don't care about one guy. I want the system to change so that farms and stories don't have to compete with each other for plays, and people can more easily find content they'd like to play.
