007
Well for the "all natural" spy type concept I would say that Pistols/Traps Corr or Pistols/Devices Blaster would be best. The blaster would have more damage, while the Corruptor would have more buffing/support.

Traps/Pistols defender is a better way to go than a Pistols/Traps Corrupter. The higher resistance debuff values for defenders helps close the damage gap between the two and you can quite easily cap defense on a defender - a little tougher on a corrupter.
Edit: I forgot to mention that AR doesn't fit thematically with a 007 character. Gotta go pistols!
Current:
Fridgerato - Traps/Ice (Frdm)
Gadgetron - Grav/TA (Lbrty)

For a travel power you could always buy rocket boots and take Fly... maybe it's stretching the James Bond concept a bit but Q always came up with the strangest toys so it could fit.
I'd agree with a Trap/DP defender or corrupter, Bond usually wasn't a blaster type. Of the two I think a defender fits the concept a bit better, and it'll be a bit more survivable.

Traps/DP is a very solid defender set. You still have lots of travel options with the different costume additions: mechanical wings, rockets boots for fly; piston boots for superjump. Your costume parts can make these powers work for your tech guy.

Granted, the damage gap is still slightly smaller than sets that share -res values (Cold, Storm, Dark).
The extra defense from PPF and Power Pools will in fact make it much easier to softcap a Defender, but the damage output suffers tremendously in exchange for the survivability. If you add Maneuvers into the equation, on top of the increased -dmg and -tohit, the team's survivability will also rise.
OP: If you're having trouble deciding between the options already suggested, I would consider how much you will team.
For mostly soloing, I'd do DP/Dev Blaster
For half/half, I'd do DP/Traps Corruptor
For mostly teaming, I'd do Traps/DP Defender
@Gilia1
I play heroes on Champion.
I play villains on Virtue.
this is one of the reasons I would love to see a martial art themed secondary for blasters (sorry I know this is a corruptor forum)

Bond was definitely a brains character rather than a brawn one. Of course he WAS easily distracted by the girl

As to the OP...
The difference between damage due to resistance debuff values on Defender versus Corruptor are easily closed thanks to the Scourge ability of the Corruptor. So don't worry too much about that.
Personally though, if concept is your highest priority, I'd aim for Dual Pistols/Devices Blaster. But it's a horrible combination in terms of damage output in the early-game.
Otherwise I'd suggest Dual Pistols/Traps Corruptor because I find them to be more useful in general than Defenders.
You could also go with Assault Rifle. The Vanguard rifle makes a really nice-looking high tech sniper.

While it's a great power and well worth the price of the MA pack I really think it's horribly out of character for a James Bond homage character. Bond's a highly cultured and sophisticated English gentleman, not a ninja.

Personally I think Flight, Teleport, and Ninja Run would be viable travel powers for a natural secret agent type.
Flight could be used as rocket boots or boosters or something that'd allow him to fly for short distances. After all, James Bond -was- (note the past tense!) all about crazy gadgets!
Same Teleport. In a world filled with super heroes where teleportation is pretty much common household technology, maybe he has a nifty teleportation device like that of the Malta operatives.
Ninja Run would also work, as I usually pretend it's just freerunning.
thank you for any help
