Crazy idiotic ambushes of doom...
I really like ambushes, when they don't shout that they'll be coming for you from the other side of the map while there is nothing else going on anymore, and when you cannot just press the exit button to avoid them.
It brings action into the game. (Though I found lately mobs that you supersped past dedice to come running after you when you stop to fight two rooms further, too. I liked that.)
I agree though that it sometimes feels weird how they are dropped right on top of you (while the game otherwise does a VERY good job at not spawning stuff right in your face!), or come by the gallon while that was explicitly disallowed in AE, and that I often wonder how they can home in on even a superstealthed character.
I think the impossible-to-finish-missions and many-stacked ambushes are bugs though.
The biggest problem with permambushes is if you have the "wrong" build/character, such as many of mine, they turn from "fun" to "ragequit". Yes, Malta Action Figure can be fun on the right character, but is an insta-drop on most of the rest.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Y'know what also needs to be looked at? That stupid old Striga mission with the Council Vampyrs.

I agree with all the absurb amount of ambushes in general, but my biggest grievance is this:
In one Praetorian mission (It involved Clockwork) our team get, well, ganked, since everytime we engage the ene-AMBUSH. Straight away. Every time. No matter how fast we kill the ambush, if we even so much as threw a angry glare into a mobs direc-AMBUSH.
Anywho, it all gets too much, everyone dies yada yada. I wait for the ambush to float away and such then use an Awaken aaaaand ...
The ambush, whom i thought was passive, speed around the corner FROM THE OTHER ROOM DOWN THE HALL and slam me back to the ground. I have NEVER had this in any other mission with ambushes before, to my recent memory, at least, i never remember a mob running from down the hall to put me back down.
It could just be that i get lucky with other ambushes in other missions (i.e. wiping them out) but i am firmly certain that ambushes wouldn't chase after people who'd rezzed well out of sight and WELL after the fight was over.
I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...
Finally did the Cuda SF last Sunday and OMG! We spend 45 mins alone dealing with ambush after ambush. I saw my temp power Frenzy recharge like 5x at least. Yeah we made alot cash off that SF but ughh that was just too much of a grind.
Tip and Praetorian ambushes definitely feel buggy. Here's to hoping people are reporting them as such.

For TEST one we just ran.
For ghouls thought the bodies and such you cool and since I didn't see any mobs only waited for 4 out of 8 people cause I didn't see a point in making people come in just to leave. This one was pretty cool though and want to set up a team at some point specifically to beat it. Since I was on my new thugs/traps MM and caltraps works great on Ghouls the other 3 people stayed up more then a minute and I thanks to good recharge timing of gang wars and hasten giving me lots of caltraps managed another minute without them, came nowhere near to putting a dent in it just distracted them enough to survive.
Edit: and at least these you don't have to kill, but what about that Clockwork mish with like 40-50 Bosses stacked in one room? I mean a good pug can only handle 2 maybe 3 in a stream with no deaths if you manage to pull that well.
Nope, Malta Action Figure is an auto-drop for me, too. I just have no patience for the "cheating" mechanics of spawning ambushes (each containing at least one sapper) right on top of me, one after the other, and making them aggro me at the door if I have to come back from the hospital. That's not fun.

"I think I'm cute. I've got gold medals.
I've got the moves that make them all tap out.
The Angle Slam, the Ankle Lock.
Marty Jannetty...still can't walk.
I'm just the sexy Kurt.
I'll make your ankle hurt.
I'm just the sexy Kurt.
I'll make your ankle hurt."
