Just an update on the influence auction... the moderators found it and deleted the thread (turns out art for influence is against the rules :|

Oh well, I have a feeling there will still be some nice pieces showing up :P

That's so weird considering how many times they've supported that themselves, forums and ingame. I think TheOcho himself was even auctioned for ingame influence. Niv and Ex were too I believe. Go figure.

Maybe they found out about my secret plot :| I was planning to do some pretty evil things with the influence P:

Decorating a superbase for Clockwork Scout! Nuuuu!

I think the problem may have been that if you buy real world things with in game currency, you potentially run into all sorts of problems, legally. (the tax man may potentially take an interest in this new 'currency' being used to purchase tangible things in the real world, for example)

That, and it's stepping dangerously close to the inverse, which is buying in game things with real world money, which is a serious no-no (see: RMT).

If it was possible to transfer inf between EU and US accounts via gleemail, I'd lob you some to help decorate your base, since my recent marketeering gains have left a slightly sour taste in my mouth, as I think I'm indirectly profiting from an AE exploit (common salvage prices and generic IO's have gone berserk, and rare salvage is down) and that's not something that appeals to me, regardless of the inf having been laundered and starched by Wentworths/BM jiggery pokery... Anyway, this is diverging.

It looks like so far as Paragon Studios are concerned, if you're paying for art, please restrict yourself to real world money. I can understand their POV and potential reasoning though.

The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.

It could also be the fact that discussing prices for art commissions are a no-no, which could include in-game prices as well as real world prices.

Real world items for in game currency is far too close to buying influence for money. Unfortunate as I love your art and think it was a great deal, but it's against the rules.

Also talking about it getting moderated is against the rules. I'll just lock the thread.
