Armegeddon and Hecatomb recipes...

Let me start by saying I'm new to the invention system. Where do the recipes for these two sets drop? I believe they are pvp sets but do they drop from actual pvp?

The drop rate on them is technically unknown, but last I heard it's estimated to be about 1 in 2500 level 47+ minion defeats. It could be more. It probably is, and someone will shortly be along to call me an idiot. (It certainly feels like more when you go 6+ months without a single one dropping.)

Furthermore, in addition to what Dechs has said, the purple recipes can only be slotted by level 50 characters. However, you retain the bonuses given by these recipes no matter how low you exemplar--even if you do the Ouroboros mission that sets you all the way back to level 1.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

Also, I think it's worth stressing the "ultra-rare" portion of Dechs' post. While you can theoretically get extremly lucky and get complete drops of both sets you'll probably end up having to buy the ones you want on the market where, due tot he ultra-rareness of the recipes, they are rather pricey.

You can also direct buy them with Alignment-Merits but since they cost 20 A-Merits each it's more effiicent to use the A-Merits to get cheaper recipes, sell those and use the Inf to buy the Purpels ont he Market.

The PvP sets are a different category. They do drop from PvP or can be purchased for 30+ A-Merits.

Pvp sets are usually called "Gladiator's ____" or "____ of the gladiator", and are all orange (very rare) and have a chance to drop from PVP kills that (that count towards rep). They give additional set bonuses while in PvP.

Purples are ultra rares, others have mentioned their drop mechanics. They offer superior enhancement numbers, procs generally have a better chance to fire, and do more damage when they do. The set bonuses often have better numbers, but slotting enough of a set to get the desirable bonuses often requires a significant investment.

And both are sets of all Unique (only one slottable per BUILD) IOs.

I do not believe the PvP IOs are all unique. Some of them (the +3% defense) are, but most of the sets are not.

I was thinking of the Set Bonus thing. How both don't care what level they are, they always grant the bonus.

Definitely not true for PvP IO's.

You two are more late than the white Rabbit. My error has already been pointed out, my not-really-an-apology given!

I was in the process of making my post before both of those went up, got distracted by shiny stuff on the wiki, followed some inter-tubes and then finally came back and clicked the submit button.

FWIW, after i19 releases I expect more people to be running "kill all" TFs for the shards. This will also mean more purple drops being generated, both for you (if you're on the TFs) and among the population in general, making more available on the market.

Which means my +2 (minimum) TFs will not change at all.
