which is better crab or bane?

I run a crab with gun attacks. The only crab attack I have is Suppression. My chain consists of VG>HB>Suppression>VG. I have really high recharge so this works out really well for me.

Also, I don't want to build for JUST level 50. With my current build I have all my main AoE attacks and 4/5 of my leadership toggles by 20 (Posi 1). I have 4 purple sets, all my LotGs are level 25, and some of my other recharge sets are in the 20-25 range so I get a high amount of recharge early on too. Everything beyond level 20 is just additional perks which continue to make my core game a lot better (Fort, Serum, all 3 pet powers). I don't want to build around AB and BS then hop on a lower level TF and be completely gimped.

So I prefered to grab less AoE attacks (that frees lots of slots, too) and go for being tougher and having double assault and maneuvers.

As mentioned several times before in this thread, crabs can stack them too, and often do.

Those are cool advantages indeed. Plus stealth and crits, too.

Crabs can get those same three pets, which are hard to make perma, plus the three cool spiderlings, which are easily perma-ed, for a total of 6 pets.
Still the biggest reason for not playing a crab is the stupid crab legs, that even cross over if your dual spec'ed.

In the end, this is usually what the crab vs hunts/bane debate boils down to.

Ran with a team from this SG recently on my Bane, Praetorian Templar.

Stacking buffs, Crabs mowing down mobs, a couple banes sweeping in at the end to wipe up what was left of +4 bosses with a few stealth strikes.

I didn't know it was a SG full of SoAs. I thought the guys just decided to make a team of them for the night.

If you guys roll them out frequently, well, sign Praetorian Templar up.

That sounds...wow..that just sounds awesome.

As far as Crab vs. Bane..meh..they're both good. Its actually hard to build ineffective Soldier or Widow. You could randomly pick powers, with your eyes closed, and still come out with an pretty balanced toon. They are just that darn good...

My level 50 Dominators:
Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi

I like this AT just for the ability of have so drastically different types. I appreciate that we get a couple of builds per toon to try them out as well.

My favorite turned out to be the up-close, stealthy, bangin bane. The Shatter and Crowd Control animations and sounds are rewarding to watch. The single target damage is impressive too.

its basically what you want,
Crab is an AE Beast that is a bit weak on ST action( at least pre-pets)

Bane is an ST Beast that is a bit weak on AE action

A Huntsman is in imo, a bit more flexiable
