Well here's the tank I'm currently working on for myself. I have i19 in mind, but this is not a i19build yet. Like the WP/FM build I just posted for someone this also is going for a well rounded Vs. all dmg types, all around Tank. I would very much appreciate any thoughts or inputs anyone has as this tank is currently unfinished and sitting at lvl41. Thank you.

So am I on the right path with this? 73 views and no comments. Does anyone have any experience with IO'ing Electric Tank Armor? Someone in game said they built for +regen to stack with a perma energize....

I wouldn't build for Regen, I'd build for +Recharge, since you already have Lightning Reflexes available.

Ya I wasn't really planing on that..... Just saying thats about all the feedback I've heard. The build above is IO'd for Defense but is it the general opinion to forgo the defense and just build for +recharge? I played a EM/Elec Brute IO'd for +recharge back when the powerset came out and other than farming lolRiktilol it was pretty weak (Prior to Energize).

The build looks decent, but it could be better.

You only need enough recharge to do a decent attack chain. Figure out what you want your attack chain to be instead of blindly stacking recharge. Also, remember you get get more recharge from the Alpha Slot when it comes out.

Your defense could be more optimized. In my opinion, the breaking points for defense are 32.5% or 45%. Anything between isn't giving much benefit. As a resistance-based set, obtaining 45% is really only viable in one set of damage types. You won't hit 45% in all of the damage types. As an alternative, you can aim for 32.5% defense in all damage types or positionals (I prefer positionals) then use a small purple inspiration when you really need to be soft capped. Going past 32.5% doesn't provide much benefit when you have a small purple, which you will probably pop anyways for tougher fights if you aren't at the soft cap.

i would use obliteration in lightning field first off.melee defense way better for tanks the aoe defense

energize would be much better slotted with one set aof anything then 3 sets not helping for bonus's as well.

id also dump the aegis and get the reactvie armor instead..be prepared though..i believe they going up in price

Obliteration however has very little end reduction in the set.


The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

Thank you. You've made good points and I'm re-evaluating my IO sets (yes I'd like to go for the 32.5%). The toon is 50 now and slotted pretty much like what I have above. I'm going to continue play-testing and tweeking this build for i19. I'll repost new build hopefully sometime next week.

I'd like you to take a look at my i19(Spiritual Alpha) 32.5% build for my Elec/Fire. I think it could work with SS, though obviously you can't copy it over as they aren't the same set at all. If you're a big spender, you can go for the gladiator +3% proc and make it easier.

I didn't notice you could slot taunt sets into Power Sink, that's interesting as I'm not sure it even has a taunt component.

Might be worth taking the MB set I have on Taunt and putting it in Power Sink, though the extra range on taunt might be very useful for things like the STF. Could any experienced Tankers chime on this?

Here's what I have planned for my Elec/Stone when i19 drops. SS should easily fit in most of this slotting, which gives 44.3% S/L, loads of +HP, and some recharge. I understand the reasoning for going all damage types for defense, but it's not necessary on Elec/. Currently, the build I have only has 30% S/L defense, and he hardly ever needs to hit his heal. Mostly because most attacks have some kind of S/L component and therefore check against your S/L defense. Also, with 2600+ HP, you've effectively increased your resistance, making it take even longer to kill you. With a little bit of recharge on top of that, you've got your heal up often enough even in sticky situations. Anyhoo, here's the build:
