So far as I know, working as designed. As best I understand it, if the drop rate were such that "casual" level 50 soloers could "level up" in any reasonable time frame, the speed task force people would find "leveling up" to be completely trivial.

As a soloer it doesn't make me particularly happy, but on the other hand, I've always liked grinding out my rewards over a long time frame, and it doesn't bother me (much) if someone else goes 1-50 in a day. I'm enjoying playing. And I've spent more time playing my 50s over the years than leveling anything, much of that time with no reward other than the play itself.

Hopefully they'll add a solo option for the notice of the incarnate, and it'll just take me a while. I can live with that. I'm a grinder.

It's not going to be too bad for me, I don't use comm officers. I used two groups of 52-53 and they normally stay alive the whole time. So I guess I now need to look for 53-54.

You and Gaiden have problems with your AAo and SD fodder, how do you have it slotted? I don't have it slotted for damage at all so maybe that's why . Maybe try getting L54 Rikti Chief Soldiers.

I do not mind it. What I would think would be awesome-in-a-can would be roughly a 5-mish that had a guaranteed shard as a reward (plus whatever you get randomly through the arc), like the Mender arc that starts all this craziness. Even if you could only do it once a day it would feel like you were making steady progress.

This is, however, coming from a person that thinks the tip missions were one of the best things to happen the City's gear system, and someone who, yesterday being the exception, tends to be the RNG's <censored>. My wife, or even her toons seemingly, is the lucky one. Go figure she only plays about a quarter of what I do.

My frist impression of the level shift... it may take me a while to get used to running even con TF's and seeing blue cons everywhere. The only other time I'd seen that in a very long time is when someone's outleveled thier mission, and generally I don't enjoy those experiences.

I know it's just the color of words on a screen, but for some reason that ITF I ran last night after getting the my teir 3 slotted was notably less enjoyable then normal.

Ah well, try again for a Notice of the Well this Saturday. Have all the shards I need to step up to a Rare, just need me my Notice...

I don't mind the teaming, it's the time. I usually log in for about an hour at a time. The TF's are just too long for me.

I usually just can't find the time, and the team to do these things.

On a side note, I'm wondering what Alpha slot you guys went with? I"m still teetering between Spiritual and Muscular on my Scrapper.

dm/sr - got it
fire/shield got it
stone/dm tank (oh, survivability!) - got it.
dm/shield - soon enough

All with Spirit tree.

elec/shield - only lvl33

Few others at 50 that are just fun... meh, I dont know yet.

Going to have to play with the difficulty sliders a lot now.*

*Hoping they add an Incarnate option (see Shred's post) - I like solo and team play, unless they offered something like this, I'm having a hard time just standing there saying "look how bad I am, my damage is so great!" with basic difficulty content. Make it an all or nothing options (whole team or solo must be Incarnates, or no go)

I hear ya. Outside of Saturdays I don't have more than 90 minutes or so in a row to play unless I stay up when I should be heading to bed.

On my DM/Regen, Spiritual all the way. +Recharge and +Heal? Yes please! Haven't gotten back to playing any of my other 50's so I'm not sure which way I'd go with them though I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be going Spiritual on my DM/Willpower and SS/Willpower Brutes as well. >Shrugs<

I have a full set of Obliteration in mine. Too many Chief Soldiers tend to, you know, kill me, especially if they're 54, I have to grab 52 and 53 Chief Soldiers and first I have to find them, kill the Mentalists and guardians and keep them from deaggroing and despawning. Gathering everything up takes longer than killing the pylon itself.

On a happier note, I too have the power. At least, assuming there isn't a rollback (which would make me ), we finished five minutes before the announcement popped up. Then I immediately changed my difficulty to +2. I hereby propose we start a "Turn Up Your Damn Difficulty" campaign. Even-cons are chumps. They were chumps even before we got to be +1, and bringing a full team to fight them is much like asking the Freedom Phalanx to help you beat up those Hellions over there.

That is usually my issue as well. I put my workout aside to make sure I got it in on the hot day and finding a team would be pretty easy. I am not exactly enjoying the fact I have to schedule my life around the game if I want to advance before the next issue, but I am just trying to adapt the best I can.

I usually fight at +4 and it was tough but now, maybe I'm exaggerating and crazy, but it feels so much easier now. I was fighting +4 x8 Malta last night and I couldn't believe the difference in performance against them.

If you're on a 50 (+1), and are set for +4x8, I'm guessing you still only get level 54 enemies instead of level 55? (Please please please level 55!)

Still only 54. As far as I know, there is no such thing (yet) as a critter over level 54. They can give critters level shifts, though. I'm betting we'll eventually see whole missions worth of baddies in Incarnate focused content that are level shifted. That leads to the potential for level 50s to fight foes that "feel like" +5s or whatever, even if their actual level is something lower.

They still won't give any better reward, though. Not unless they explicitly tweak their base reward value.

Eh, as long as they make them harder to match our increasing power. But I kinda can't imagine a room full of devs going, "Wait, what? The level shift made characters more powerful? They're just face rolling content now? Wow! Who could have seen that coming?" I think we'll be fine.

Oh, I wasn't thinking they'd add level shifts in any sinister way. I figure it's just a natural outgrowth of us getting them. Remember, we're getting other powers, too. At some point, combining IO builds and the extra abilities of the other Incarnate slots, I think +4s are going to be pretty manageable, so giving us the option to fight effective +5s or even higher might be quite reasonable.

(Teams with IO builds and/or good buffs were already speeding through the Apex and Tin Mage TFs. Last night some folks I know who do that regularly ran Apex with all +1 shifted 50s and finished it in 18 minutes.)

Did you stick with recharge or go damage?

I hope they don't introduce enemies over level 54. I much prefer creative difficulty like in AE (custom mobs designed to be hard) or Apex than plain number power increase bringing us back to square one.

Yes, plz. This is pretty much what I ment. I dont want just just higher level mobs, that's repeating challenges. At best power combos not seen; at worst secondary effects tweeks like they seem to do with Vanguard, Resistance, etc (seems that the secondary effect is the "primary" and the damage is an after thought).

Your Alpha slotting. Did you go with Spiritual or Musculature?

I think if I can recall you were leaning towards Spiritual. My blaster is going Musculature, but so far I only have the common Spiritual in my DM/Shield.

I took Spiritual for my exemplaring build and then for my incarnate build I am going with the Nerve boost.

Nerve?

That's interesting.

I have to say after last night.... doing Stateman, about 2.5 hours or so.... I am changing my mind to damage. Just some things made me think that doing uber damage as a scrapper of our build type (DM/Shield) is very strong.

Recharge is something we can get fairly decent at without assistance, but the 'over the top' damage that a rare/very rare will get us, combined with AAO and Soul Drain..... well it makes me giddy to think about.

I stayed up too late getting it... I never made anything last night. So I logged out and now I'm second guessing Spiritual.
