Couple of questions if I may please?
Welcome to the game! I am sure you are looking forward to picking up a travel power.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.
Two more bits of advice.
1) Don't trust the rabbit - just on general principal. Unless you happen to have some spare Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch.
2) It is possible to remove (but not reuse) enhancements without placing another enhancement over it. You click and drag it to the garbage can in the lower corner on the enhancement management screen. Mostly useful when you are swapping out a Set IO for one identical but for level, and don't want to resepc.

All awesome replies and a healthy sense of humor here too i see. I actually joined up with a team last night for the first time and was a tad nervous to say the least. To my great surprise these folks were actually friendly! We smashed our way through many missions without anyone dying or getting upset too.
I was expecting to hear things like "your DPS sucks" or "Your heals are crap" There was no Recount, Gearscore or Omen to foul things up either. Just a bunch of folks literally smashing through waves of bad guys and having a blast! It was just so nice to see that "Gear" is not what makes for a good player or a good time here and I just could not be happier about that hehe. Mind you, I do like these enhancements cause damn they make a nice difference.
See you guys in game hopefully.. Oh and apologies again to Goldengirl.. Maybe a colour change might be in order?
Just chiming in with the Welcome to the Game chorus!
Have a blast.
I'm on Justice if you ever venture out that way.

Classic example: it is someone playing a set that includes penalties to offset its significant advantages. And if you're playing a buffing powerset that includes a power to counteract said penalties, they were expecting you to be their personal servant to ensure that they can demonstrate how much of a god they are.
There are too many other examples to go into. Just tell them that you're new and ask them to explain to you why that power is so good. Maybe they will, maybe not. You can always come here to get a full rundown.
Note: If they get unruly and personal, remember that you can petition them for harassment (Menu-->Support) and set them on ignore (right click their name in chat or the team window or directly on their character.
Some people play for concept and purposely skip powers. You'll need a better grasp of the various powers first, so you probably aren't at this stage yet for a few months.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Cool, Virtue is the best sever . If you're interested in teaming I recommend joining the global channels "Virtue LFG Alpha" and "Virtue TFs" both are a good source for teams (the former covers all team types but the latter is mostly for Task Forces).

Fortunately, the population on Virtue's so high, just setting your status to "Looking for Any" or "Looking for Missions" will get you an invitation in fairly short order.
Anyway, as one newbie to another (I've been playing about 4 months), welcome to the game. If you need a little seed money, I'm sure I could send you a million or two inf, jut so you don't have to sweat the little expenses. I'm @AnElfCalledMack, so send me an email (the little "email" tab on your chat window). And don't worry about paying it back. Once you're comfortable, pay it forward - send it to some other newbie who can't afford a full set of dual-origin enhancements, so they can have more fun too.
This is pretty much the reason I keep coming back to the game. Teaming basically consists of finding 7 other players and smashing through everything in front of you. There's no need to worry about finding people with the right combination of powers or even the right AT, although it does help if the majority of them are awake. I just grab whomever wants to come and find some bad guys to arrest with extreme prejudice.
