Housefire
Glad to hear you're okay. While fire wasn't the element, I can relate to the hardship of losing part of your home.
Hey all, thanks for the support.
The fire marshal has been through and determined the cause to be an extension cord that somehow overheated and caught things on fire. So...yeah. As far as renter's insurance is concerned, we had it, but recently changed insurance companies, and we just hadn't gotten around to adding it. Lesson learned.
The insurance adjusters are making us move all of our stuff out of the house before they'll give our landlords a quote, despite the fact that the only damage to the house is in the bedroom. So, we're out of a home for a month, probably longer. So, homeless for now. I personally think that's the landlord's "gentle" way of evicting us, but...I could just be a conspiracy theorist.
Anyway, yeah...I'm going to be out of the game for a while. Don't quite know when I'll be back, but I'll be able to read and respond on the forums.
Yeesh, that's lame. I hate moving period, and you weren't even planning on this.

Hang in there Viv and your family. As long as they are safe, that is what is most important. Moving does suck, but it will be forgotten afterwards in few months.
The game will be here when you get back so don't worry about us!
In this episode of Disastrous **** for the Miller Family, a deer hits DJ's car and breaks out the windows and makes the driver's door uncloseable.
Note: a DEER hits DJ's car. Not DJ hits a deer.
We have the worst luck in the world. And now I'm waiting for the 3rd thing to drop on our heads. ****.
Oh my goodness!
Maybe the third thing will actually be good, for a change?
Well, I'm hoping it was something earlier in the month, and the November will be ok.
We can all be thankful for the Red Cross than. Things are also generally damaged by the smoke from the fire as well, I used to work at an insurance company and we had many claims on the damage done from the smoke even when the fire did little to no damage.
Don't mess with Texas!

Ironically, the apartment building we're in (which is quite well maintained) was inspected by the city this year. The one we were in for awhile before that, which had the laziest and most frustrating landlords ever, was not inspected ever in the two years we were there. Would have loved to make some comments to the inspector about how they did things, too.
