Fun episode. Classic Castle.
I particularly loved the bit of writing that had someone surprised that the victim was found in Central Park "because he wasn't much of an outdoors person".
Because the previews hinted that it was a Steampunk episode, I guessed early on that SPOILERS he died in a duel (yes, I know, but still). Also, I wish that places like the Steampunk club were all over the place and that I had Nathan's Steampunk arm. Fun episode, overall.
For those who missed it,the Cannell tribute has been YouTubed...

Also loved the line about "200-year-old bullet. That can mean only one thing...
....time travelling killer!"
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
Put me down for "brother" not "boyfriend" on the new dude.
Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
To be honest the resolution bothered me (SPOILER ALERT). I'll admit I don't much about ballistics but the idea that you could guarantee that a gun would definitely be off target by a certain amount strikes me as rather iffy (although the bit with the laser sight on the antique pistol cracked me up).

I was more bothered by the lack of deformation in the bullets after they'd struck something.

Don't think it was 'guaranteed' so much "...as factoring in lack of experience, no trial shots, poor condition of the weapon, distances relative to known productive result of the weapon, etc. etc. etc., I statistically present the likelihood of an accurate shot to be..." and they decided it was safe. It was in some ways a metaphore for investment risk, and why I was prepared to accept it as the ending even though I knew the clock told me something else was yet to develop.

I noticed that as well, but to be honest it's pretty much par for the course in crime shows, bullets rarely show realistic deformation.
I'm more miffed at Lanies hair. No pathologist is going to have his or her hair down like that. It would be tied back at the least or in a cap. Thats what I liked about the X-Files: Scully acted like how an M.E. would.
Castle really was straddling the frace line tonight, in the best way possible, between Esposito's injuries and Castle constant talk abotu tiem travel and time ripples. And the DeLorean.
That Steampunk club looked awesome. I wish there really was one in NYC. I would visit my sister more often it there was!
It's her new boyfriend. This season is all about the right people being with the wrong partner (so Beckett and Rico Suave and earlier, Castle and his ex-wife)
