Hey there's always AMD...
that said, i love my dual gtx 460's though
Yeah, second story says it's only with Best Buy and only specific cards. If it *stays* limited to that, there's a lot of room for other manufacturers still (the cards they don't direct-sell, the factory-overclocks, etc.)

Its only supposed to be at Bestbuy, and only with mid range and lower cards. Its not really that big a deal: around here Bestbuys have been selling ATI branded cards for years.
More news: reportedly XFX has been giving the boot by Nvidia

Some reports are saying Nvidia singled out XFX due to XFX's move to selling AMD/ATi cards, and that other multi-chip vendors, such as Asus, could be next on Nvidia's hit list.
That would be another stupid move for them. Seriously. nVidia manufactures the chips and then sells the chipset to the board manufacturer, doesn't it?
So why narrow the slice of the pie?
uhm... because they suffering from a slight case of cranial inversion?
although it could be cerebral palsy...
It seems like it's a move to fill the void that BFG left at Best Buy and Best Buy only.

Not more to go on outside of HardOCP's story right now. If Nvidia is direct selling GPU cards again, this could be a bad sign for add-in board partners.
